I’d wager you a lot that you couldn’t name a single instance where PSU fans mocked Iowa wrestling. It would be a shot in the dark if you could. It would be much easier to evict a single mother from an apartment than to find an example.Well some here had a good time with some of the Hawkeye misdeeds.

Do you have facts to back that up, or was that just a shot in the dark?I’d wager you a lot that you couldn’t name a single instance where PSU fans mocked Iowa wrestling. You bet that there are facts.Do you have facts to back that up, or was that just a shot in the dark?
Wow.....thats gonna leave a scar.Do you have facts to back that up, or was that just a shot in the dark?
Are you kidding me. How often did you frequent this place when the gun accidents took place. I like ribbing the Hawks just as much as the next guy but you shouldn't ignore that it also happens here.I’d wager you a lot that you couldn’t name a single instance where PSU fans mocked Iowa wrestling. Gotta bust peoples balls now and then it's what guys do ( can I say that in 2025 🤣).I do mock the fans and coaches pretty good as for the wrestlers I don't know about mocking but I do harass them now and then!
Well, for some, the glasses are half full. Or maybe even totally broken.Fans, coaches, slumlords and helicopter parents are fair game.
Can't see your point.Well, for some, the glasses are half full. Or maybe even totally broken.
At least you qualified the gun ACCIDENTs.Are you kidding me. How often did you frequent this place when the gun accidents took place. I like ribbing the Hawks just as much as the next guy but you shouldn't ignore that it also happens here.
I mean… why can’t we do both?I really made my comment more as an opportunity to joke about Iowa having no reason to celebrate for quite some time than to rip them for joking about Davis.
The trash can is half full of non-gold medals and broken glasses.Well, for some, the glasses are half full. Or maybe even totally broken.
I see their Davis thread as a case of the giggles. The Ryder news, however, was full-on celebration, like they thought, “This is it guys, the tide is finally turning!”I really made my comment more as an opportunity to joke about Iowa having no reason to celebrate for quite some time than to rip them for joking about Davis.

Well now you’re making a spectacle of yourself! Can't see your point.
Any teacher would say this board has bad pupils!Well now you’re making a spectacle of yourself!
LOL the next iowa celebration will be when tom retires!
Kinda reminds you of the black knight in Monty Pythons Holy Grail.I see their Davis thread as a case of the giggles. The Ryder news, however, was full-on celebration, like they thought, “This is it guys, the tide is finally turning!”
The even funnier part to me, though, was that they think they are next in line to be on top.
I actually think the opposite will happen. I see him giving football one last shot before hanging up the cleats. Like you mentioned, he arrived at Iowa with football accolades, yet didn’t sniff the field at all as a freshman. That stands in stark contrast to someone like Abdul Carter, who made an immediate impact. In today’s game, if a player can contribute—even just on special teams or in garbage time—you find a way to get him reps. The fact that Kueter didn’t get that opportunity says a lot. Some rumblings that Ben Kueter will wrestle one more year then solely focus on football, might lead to Mocco starting as a true freshman instead of the current double redshirt plan some posted. By rumblings, it was posted Sean Bock, Iowa's 247 reporter and not some random faceless user name. Would be the equivalent of Tyler Donohue or Tyler Calvaruso on PSU's 247 posting something, they might not be 100% right (as things change) but it's as credible as it gets.
It might be surprising since it seems Kueter has always leaned wrestling more but the allure (and money) of college football/NFL is something else. Several elite wrestlers have tried to find a way to the NFL including Adam Coon, Gable Steveson and now Mason Parris. Obviously guys like Stephen Neal and Carlton Haselrig has to leave elite wrestlers thinking it could be them.
Unlike the 3 above though, Kueter was actually a legit football prospect coming out of HS, receiving 4 stars on Rivals and 247. This was despite the fact he shut his recruitment down for Iowa basically and didn't go to any camps that often boost your ratings or get big offers (because he wrestles in the summer) I imagine Kirk Ferentz has given Kueter an ultimatum at this point saying he has accomodated him as long as possible and if he's serious about football, he must be all in for his last 3 years (and Ferentz also said it's okay if he doesn't want to do it anymore either but Kueter sounds like he really wants to give it a shot)
I also would not be surprised if Kueter just doesn't like folkstyle much and figures if he wants to return to freestyle wrestling, he can do that if football doesn't work out.
Possible and like I said, things can change. But Iowa's 247 football writer made it very clear Kueter wants to solely focus on football one day.I actually think the opposite will happen. I see him giving football one last shot before hanging up the cleats. Like you mentioned, he arrived at Iowa with football accolades, yet didn’t sniff the field at all as a freshman. Plus, in the Flo documentary, one of his football coaches hinted that his position in the depth chart may have influenced his decision to focus solely on wrestling last season. A subtle but telling comment IMO. My guess is he gives football one last try, but ultimately thanks Ferentz for the opportunity and commits fully to wrestling.
Someone on GIA is saying Miller may be better.A.k.a., the next Aaron Brooks.
Lol, that's like Spyker saying EDMOND RUTH WILL BE BETTER THAN HIS BROTHER !!!! BOOK IT !!!!Someone on GIA is saying Miller may be better.
Miller will most likely end up at Iowa. Miller is good.....very good. I think he has more athleticism than Bo or Jax. All three have improved before our eyes. I think Miller has a high ceiling. Dare I say higher than Bo? Of course....he is younger. Time will tell obviously.....we have seen "Can't Miss" actually miss. I think all three of them are going to do great. When all is said and done....Bo may be the 3rd best in the group and that is a special group.Someone on GIA is saying Miller may be better.
The kid is obviously talented, but until I see that room develop a national champion at a weight above 133 my guess will always be teaching a kid with great offensive skills to wrestle for that all important stall call/point is going to come up short.Someone on GIA is saying Miller may be better.
If so, is that good enough for Brands to bother recruiting him? Will he task Bobby with the job or get out the snow shovel again
(Joking - we all know BNic bought himself a Bishop McCort 2-fer)
I think they go together will Terry split,I doubt it!Even if Terry stays on as HC?

Don’t really buy Iowa “coaching down” a naturally offensive wrestler into a staller. Just don’t think they’ve had that many. They didn’t leash Lee, haven’t cuffed Cali, can’t slow Bo, and won’t hinder Miller when he certainly gets there. I’ll even accept that the kid actually may’ve beaten Duke (some say PJ stepped out before throwing 4) in freestyle (where Alex beat Levi) and the fact that Melvin’s far better than I thought and destined to be a Hawk. That said, I’ll happily take folkstyle Lions all day every day till my last day.The kid is obviously talented, but until I see that room develop a national champion at a weight above 133 my guess will always be teaching a kid with great offensive skills to wrestle for that all important stall call/point is going to come up short.
If PJ takes a RS ( REALLY wanted him here for last year of HS) he will be unbeatable regardless of ho good Miller becomes.Don’t really buy Iowa “coaching down” a naturally offensive wrestler into a staller. They wanted to uncuff Ferrari, so to speak. They didn’t leash Lee, haven’t cuffed Cali, can’t slow Bo, and won’t hinder Miller when he certainly gets there.
Whats your cute little definition of what they did for Marinelli?Don’t really buy Iowa “coaching down” a naturally offensive wrestler into a staller. Just don’t think they’ve had that many. That was obviously something between his ears where when it mattered NCAA he didn't perform. Look at his regular seasons he barely lost until NCAAs. His RS FR year he lost 3 times at big 10s he lost 2 regular season matches his whole career Cenzo and Kharcala in duals. The rest of his losses 9 were at NCAAs not counting his RS year. His regular seasons were really really good. And he won 4 big 10 titles. It was definitely something between his earsWhats your cute little definition of what they did for Marinelli?
