I'm mot a coach however I did stay at a Holidsy Inn way back in 1974. After watching Michigan vs Iowa, I sure hope the D brings the house and pressures Stanley all night long. He really had trouble handling the Michigan pressure. Just my thoughts.
Your coaching staff - no doubt - will watch and study the UM-Iowa film and basically employ a lot of the same strategy and tactics that Don Brown used - blitz, blitz, and blitz. It was a stroke of genius on a very immobile / pocket type QB. Stanley never knew what hit him.As I mentioned a few weeks ago...... Stanley is still Stanley (no bueno), and Iowa doesn’t have much on O....... not a lot on D either, aside from a couple of the DL.
Whether PSU can go out there and score? Who knows.
But it would be more than surprising if Iowa has much success against the PSU D.

They can just dust off last years game tape...Stanley is a statue and makes horrible throws/choices under duress. If he had even a decent game against us they win that game last year.I'm mot a coach however I did stay at a Holidsy Inn way back in 1974. The wet blanket is here. With Ricky “ no offense” Rahn running the show, is it possible to score some points?
Good thing PSU doesn’t play Wisconsin this year. The Michigan defensive game film would be useless.Your coaching staff - no doubt - will watch and study the UM-Iowa film and basically employ a lot of the same strategy and tactics that Don Brown used - blitz, blitz, and blitz. My guess is they'll be working on blitz pickups a lot this week. From listening to the radio after the game these were the excuses I heard: one of the things Michigan did in-game that caused problems was switching from a 4-3 to a 3-4 at various times. The linemen said they didn't know who to block at times. Iowa's D was playing pretty well too, so Michigan's offense wasn't staying on the field long enough for the Iowa offensive coaches to go over what was happening with the linemen.I'm mot a coach however I did stay at a Holidsy Inn way back in 1974. Agree....Pry must tell the defense to subdue them, subdue them, make them relinquish the ball.I'm mot a coach however I did stay at a Holidsy Inn way back in 1974. PSU opens as 2.5 favorite at Circa.
My memory of that from the 70's is "suppress"...Agree....Pry must tell the defense to subdue them, subdue them, make them relinquish the ball.
No team so far has been able to match up with our defense and I don’t expect Iowa to be the one who does. The key is whether Rahne is good enough as an OC to get ready for a good defense. He practically blew it against Pitt. We will see
