I'm mot a coach however I did stay at a Holidsy Inn way back in 1974. After watching Michigan vs Iowa, I sure hope the D brings the house and pressures Stanley all night long. He really had trouble handling the Michigan pressure. Just my thoughts.

Most QB's don't do well when they are under pressure. We're going to get a fired up Iowa at night following a tough loss....just get a W somehow and move on.

As I mentioned a few weeks ago...... Stanley is still Stanley (no bueno), and Iowa doesn’t have much on O....... not a lot on D either, aside from a couple of the DL.

Whether PSU can go out there and score? Who knows.
But it would be more than surprising if Iowa has much success against the PSU D.
Your coaching staff - no doubt - will watch and study the UM-Iowa film and basically employ a lot of the same strategy and tactics that Don Brown used - blitz, blitz, and blitz. It was a stroke of genius on a very immobile / pocket type QB. Stanley never knew what hit him.

Oh you mean like any staff in the nation...they will watch the other teams tape. Man....your football IQ is crazy good. He sure didn't look like a genius against Wisky.....but PSU staff will watch that tape too before the UM game.

They can just dust off last years game tape...Stanley is a statue and makes horrible throws/choices under duress. If he had even a decent game against us they win that game last year.

This stretch of 3 games is where the depth Franklin has developed kicks in. In previous years we came into a stretch like this on a sugar high(like now) but limped off because by the 4th quarter of each game the team was worn out. This year it is going to be different. Some complained when so many different players played over the last 5 games. You can't build depth without trying to build depth. Dividends are about to be paid.

With Ricky “ no offense” Rahn running the show, is it possible to score some points?

Good thing PSU doesn’t play Wisconsin this year. The Michigan defensive game film would be useless.

My guess is they'll be working on blitz pickups a lot this week. From listening to the radio after the game these were the excuses I heard: one of the things Michigan did in-game that caused problems was switching from a 4-3 to a 3-4 at various times. The linemen said they didn't know who to block at times. Iowa's D was playing pretty well too, so Michigan's offense wasn't staying on the field long enough for the Iowa offensive coaches to go over what was happening with the linemen.

Iowa tends to get focused after a loss. When we beat them 41-14 in 2016 they came back the following week and beat Michigan at home at night 14-13. I was hoping that they would win this one. I wouldn't sleep on this Hawkeye team - they'll be out to prove something. Penn State should win, but I expect it to be a close game.

They will stew for a week because UM was beatable and they let it slip. PSU game now defines their season this year. Beat PSU and they can still think big.

But if we play them in December, we’re all set

BTW Wolve, some teams actually do play beyond November and the game of the year.

Agree....Pry must tell the defense to subdue them, subdue them, make them relinquish the ball.

I’m amused that some here actually think Franklin and the staff will have a plan. It’s far more likely they will take a wait-and-see approach. You know, just see what happens and try to react.

When do the Idiots Out Walking Around “IOWA” trolls appear? They always make for a fun filled pregame week.

No team so far has been able to match up with our defense and I don’t expect Iowa to be the one who does. The key is whether Rahne is good enough as an OC to get ready for a good defense. He practically blew it against Pitt. We will see

Whatever it is, we need to let Franklin and staff know soon so they can implement it.
