Keckeisen is great and it’s certainly possible for him to edge out AB. That said, I think I read AB is something like 7-0 against Keckeisen lifetime. Just hoping AB stays healthy and he’s damn near close to a lock.Nothing is ever a “lock”. Injury, illness, etc. can always factor in…and both Hidlay and Keckheisen (sp) have given him close battles.
I do think it is advantageous for Brooks to wrestle Keck early on in the challenge matches because I favor our coaches adjustments over anyone else’s.
This includes Spencer Lee.Favorite but no one is ever a lock
Correct, Carter will stand alone, if he wants it, but by the sounds of his interview, he may not.Huh? AB can’t be a 5 time champ. Only Carter is left across NCAA with a shot, no?
Did you watch the video? He seemed to give a pretty fair assessment, apart from his mistake about Aaron’s eligibility. He is a Penn State alumni, trying to build a following on a new channel. I can’t blame him for following the best practices for YouTube engagement in terms of titles, etc. This is the same guy who also suggested that Penn State wouldn't bonus anyone in the back half of the tOSU lineup, despite Brooks smoking Romero at NCAAs and Kerkvliet having a 100% bonus rate in 3 matches against Orndorff.
Fanco used to be a bit more reasonable but these days he's manufacturing reactions from people.

gotcha. I’m not saying I’m happy that the best way to make money on YouTube is to title things this way, and use a sensational graphic as a thumbnail, but it is how you make money on YouTube. So, assuming this guy isn’t doing it purely out of the love of the sport, I can’t fault him too much for trying to attract subscribers, using the proven methods.I did. I'm a subscriber and watch most of his stuff when I ride my bike at night.
My comment was more of a general comment about the sensationalist turn his product has taken in the last 6 months.
Give me AB right now over Valencia, tooUnless it’s Taylor, Nickal, Valencia , or Yarzdani, give me AB
Keckeisen and Hidley are very good. A mistake or two and Brooks could lose. However, I think we'd all like to see the final score of a Hidley match where he isn't allowed to continually retreat to the edge.
Wittlake at 184 might surprise everybody - he's been sucking weight his whole career.
Sheesh. There is a line of 30 kids that have probably told John the same thing. Starve the kids to death and watch them under perform. Every 3" binder should have a page dedicated to what Cael does here. This one ain't rocket science, yet there are at least two major programs that continue to do this all too often. If Wittlake is firing on all cylinders and can finish second at 184, does he walk up to Smith and say something like...
Spencer Lee is wrestling on 2 legs both operated on less than a year ago. I believe this is going to be more of a problem than perhaps people believe it is.Keeping everything in perspective and remembering Kolat, Taylor and K McCoy only won 2 each. Nobody is ever a lock. However, as long as Spencer Lee doesn't decide to wrestle 184 this year Aaron is more of a favorite than just about anybody else not named Carter, RBY or a 125 pound Spencer.
Correct. As soon as anyone actually thinks they are a lock, they will lose (obviously, not saying AB thinks that way...). AB should be a heavy favorite, but there are multiple guys good enough to win at every weight.Favorite but no one is ever a lock
Trent doesn't really wrestle other people like he wrestles AB. He digs those hooks and moves forward typically. He's clearly following his coach's strategy to try and steal one vs AB. They must think it's his best chance at winning.Barring a MAJOR overhaul of Hidlays wrestling style, I cant see him beating Aaron. Keck may pose a bigger problem. Right now it’s AB’s to lose.
No one is a lock, but yeah, if things go don't off the rails he'll win.

I love that Mr. Brooks called out fans who complained about Aaron's strategy against Amine in the finals.Hidlay's problem is that he's wrestling a guy who is better at the things he's good at: punching in an underhook and moving the opponent around.
Last year, Brooks had forward pressure that no one in the NCAA could match; I'm guessing part of that is in no small part due to Casey and Cael wanting him to replicate Yazdani for DT.
Agree…didn’t Wittlake beat Brooks for the world team, but then got hurt?Keckeisen and Hidley are very good. A mistake or two and Brooks could lose. However, I think we'd all like to see the final score of a Hidley match where he isn't allowed to continually retreat to the edge.

Aaron doesn’t push the action looking to score? Can’t agree…I like AB as much as anybody to win, but he is not a guy that is constantly pushing the point total. When you wrestle close stuff happens. Hidlay could have beat him two years ago. He didn't but AB left the door open.
AB is an absolute hammer. I think all would agree, but he is 53.9% career bonus win guy. You would think he would be at 60% or more. Look at RBY and Starocci, they both only have a bonus rate of about 44%.Aaron doesn’t push the action looking to score? Can’t agree…
Well 44-50-64% is a solid progression.AB is an absolute hammer. I think all would agree, but he is 53.9% career bonus win guy. You would think he would be at 60% or more. Look at RBY and Starocci, they both only have a bonus rate of about 44%.
Not even comparing them to the Taylor's and Nolf's of the world but you would think all of those guys could easily be in the 60% range.
In an interview I believe AB said PK was his most worthy opponent. Throwing a bit of shade Amine's way if I recall correctly. I would expect it to be close, but I feel Aaron would win also.Keckeisen is great and it’s certainly possible for him to edge out AB. That said, I think I read AB is something like 7-0 against Keckeisen lifetime. Just hoping AB stays healthy and he’s damn near close to a lock.
Spencer was already beating the crap out of the field with two bad legs...Spencer Lee is wrestling on 2 legs both operated on less than a year ago. I believe this is going to be more of a problem than perhaps people believe it is.
Could very well be. However, if he gets to the 3rd weekend in March and he is the healthiest he has been through the season he will be a tough out.Spencer Lee is wrestling on 2 legs both operated on less than a year ago. Absolutely. Lee is the hands down favorite if he is 100 percent.Could very well be. However, if he gets to the 3rd weekend in March and he is the healthiest he has been through the season he will be a tough out.
One bad leg wasn't good enough in Hershey his senior year. Never disregard the field, you never know who is coming up. This is also why you don't just hand Carter or Aaron the trophy this season as well.In an interview I believe AB said PK was his most worthy opponent. Throwing a bit of shade Amine's way if I recall correctly. I would expect it to be close, but I feel Aaron would win also.

Count me on the side that thinks he'll be fine.
You are correct. Neither of those guys won a title as a freshman. Not even comparing them to the Taylor's and Nolf's of the world but you would think all of those guys could easily be in the 60% range.
Lee is the hands down favorite if he's 70%Absolutely. Lee is the hands down favorite if he is 100 percent.
