Reread the 2nd, 4th, and 5th paragraphs. Not a ton of data, but I chose this article because it also covered the lawsuit(s).
Search for these words in the article and let me know what you find: prank, robbery, robbed, stolen, money, cash.
I ran into LHU Coach Rob Weikel the other day in McElhattan. He recently had a hip replacement done and he is walking with a crutch. I usually ask him about their scholarship situation but he is evasive about discussing it. That has to be rough for a school like that to learn that the big boys are going to be able to give out 30.
Agree....seems tough on the smaller schools. Why did they go from a skimpy 9.5 to 30? Why not 15-20? Probably NIL related.
What they did was reduce roster sizes and then say everyone can get a full ride (if funding is available).
Schools like Lock Haven have an opportunity to get to 30 rides sooner -- because they're much lower cost, thus they have to raise a lot less money. The challenge is not having as many big-hitter donors.
How will they comply with Title 9?
They havent been close to the 9.9 yet.
Lock Haven is in a slightly better spot than some others because of their women’s program existing. The problem they’ll face is funding the new scholarships proportionately. The AD and the department in general is going to have to hustle in order to facilitate that funding.
Heard Lehigh is getting a couple really good recruits coming soon who are flipping their commitments!
In terms of PA D1 teams I root for:
1) PSU. Next question.
2) Edinboro. They’re right down the road from me and I went to a few of their camps thru HS. Hoping they at least become competitive again.
3) Clarion. We did joint practices with them when I was in college and I appreciate their history. My stepdad was a volunteer coach there for a season back in the day too.
4) Pitt. A few local D10 boys have gone there over the years and I like Dayton Pitzer. I met him at a Waller camp just before his freshman year of HS. Super nice young man. Screw Pitt football though.
5) LHU. A buddy of mine wrestled for them for two years and liked the program a lot before transferring to Gannon to finish his degree.
6) Lehigh
7) Penn
8) Bloomsburg
9) F&M
10) Drexel
If we’re including all other PA college programs, UPJ and Thiel knock Drexel and F&M off my list. I hung out with 3x D2 national champ Chris Eddins at a Waller camp for a couple of summers and one of my old practice partners wrestled for Thiel. Admittedly, I’m still mildly bitter Thiel didn’t recruit me lol

2. PITT.....I am still celebrating their big win over Syracuse. Tonight's drink of choice is one I had never tried before. Actually never heard of it before. It is made by the Terrapin Beer Company (Never heard of them). They are located in Athens Ga. The beer is called "Depth Perception" Imperial IPA. I really like the flavor.....Quite Happy.....I mean Hoppy. At 9.1% ABV.......it will quickly affect your depth perception. I give it two thumbs.....wait......it appears to be four thumbs up......wait....I'm alone. Let's just say it is good

The story is: about 10 years ago, a football recruit tweeted his list of Top 5 schools, numbered -- but it included 6 schools. Pitt was listed as 5b.

Penn State lands in 3-star DT recruit Christian Colon's top 5 schools
The Nittany Lions made the cut along with North Carolina, Maryland, UCLA and Syracuse, Colon announced via Twitter today. Pitt was listed as his '5B' school.
Needless to say, it stuck, at least on BSD.
Oops. Completely forgot about them. I'll stick them in right after F&M. I have nothing against the schools at the bottom of my list, just less of a connection to any recent athletes.
I grew up with Cris Eddins' dad and his HS coach was also my middle school coach. Once in HS when my parents were away I threw a little party. The elder Eddins showed by and threw another kid threw our picture window. I did not come out of that weekend unscathed.
Forgot all about them lol. I’d probably slot them in around 9. They’d still get bumped out if I included Thiel and UPJ though

I'm kind of disappointed with how far edinboro has fallen. They used to have a pretty solid program. I also wish slippery rock would have stuck around
