I'd agree with that point, especially since cbs (24/7) has said the plan is to merge the two sites in the near future.
I used to be a premium member there but quit a few years ago. I just checked out their new look (don't like it) and immediately thought about the teeth gnashing here over the end of thread view. Gotta be some upset members over there.

They caught on too late to trolls and their game of mass reporting posters with the threat of "I'm leaving forever if they aren't banned". The good posters were the ones who left, leaving the site to Joe and PSU haters who feebly tried to disguise themselves. Now, some of the clowns are here after a mass banning that was the best thing ever done, but again, too late. CBS Sports is a joke.
Yeah, FOS used to be the best premium board out there for many years. Then it really just went downhill fast with a few posters taking over every thread and getting into an argument. For whatever reason, Brennan refused to clean it up and lost control.
I do really like his Brennan Cam. The after-Ohio State footage he got from the field was really cool.

The 247 bought out Scout. As such, Scout's platform is being migrated to 247. Right now the plan is to totally merge sites on both networks that have low traffic--and keep the larger ones, including Lions247/FOS separate.
In other words, Lions247 members aren't going to get access to Mark Brennan's TAP posts without subscribing to both Lions247 and FOS.

Agree with a lot of that, especially the Brennan part. Not a fan of his and had a party when he left BWI.
It was unable to withstand the JS incident and isn't that the site that started the whole shitstorm with the bodybuilding posts?
I do disagree with it ever being the best Premium board, call me a homer but the Den is the best premium board followed closely
by 247.
Miles Kaufmann aka 21Guns was one of the culprits you described. 247 also kicked Miles Kaufmann to the curb.
Yeah, FOS had the S&C kerfluffle (HIT or no HIT) that went on and on (big mouth Irondoc and others).
Irondoc was and probably still is a horses ass.
247's biggest advantage is they provide great content and actually moderate the site. They don't allow the pnnylions of the world trash the site with nonsense daily and keep it on topic. Even on the pay site here they have had people like mk, spyker, and some others hijack a site for months at a time. 247 puts them in timeout once or twice and then gets rid of them. Ryan and Fitz are the two best guys when it comes to recruiting by far. FOS had some insiders, but it became one big competition to see who the biggest insider it was and it was the most juvenile thing ever...honestly it was. Mark did a good job with football content, but the posters there really jumped the shark a LONG time ago.
Then there was the small core of insiders who did everything they could to run off anybody who didn't see things the same way they did. Going after other insiders and board members until they left the boards, creating their own site so they could "Lasch out" against the program. Even created a negative PSU video for youtube with the help of two FOS mods at the time(one no longer is) highlighting negative plays, losses, anything that made PSU football look bad.
I was sorry to see Fitz leave BWI, he had good "inside" info and contacts.
I checked out the 247 site after he left but didn't really like it. I don't like the way
the free and premium sites are rolled into one. JMO.
He goes by Sudburylion on FOS now, hell he's probably got a new name here as well. He'll out himself sooner or later. Poor fella just can't help himself Period.
I like it because it keeps the focus on PSU football most of the time. There are other posts like a soccer thread, but it is kept to one thread and bumped up...some others like that. Like I said they moderate better than any other site has...it's refreshing.
I'm seriously thinking about dumping the premium site here as BWI has completely lost control of the board with no desire to do anything about it. I think Phil going out of his way to protect the troll might be what pushes me over the edge.
When your mods are saying they have to put someone on ignore...that person is a problem. He just make things up like people don't know he is lying. Then he repeats it as if it's a fact....when he made it up. Something is off there...and that is putting it nicely.

I had a conversation with one of the staff and everybody can't stand him and wants him gone, except Phil. Phil was behind bringing him back and magically changing his screen name.
Maybe Phil knows there isn't something right there....and not in a mean way if you catch my drift..

from everything I've gathered, that's not the case. Since he's a paying customer, there's only 1 board rule: you can't attack other posters. This is a money issue, and the boss doesn't care how much crap his staff has to deal with.
Really? Cause I've seen posters admonished and banned for being overly critical of recruits and players. As they should be.
