While a playmaker he gets banged up seemingly almost every game. It would help him to put on some more weight and stay another year. But there's the business side of it too, which I fear could win out.

He's just not a great receiver yet. Great after the ball is in his hands, but he's got work to do to be a more natural receiver. I think that would hurt his draft stock.

I hold my breath now when he takes chances on kick returns, and he's not facing NFL backs and LBs on those returns. I love the kid, but he's not a big guy, you have to worry.

No doubt and it will be before round 3 I imagine. He already let it slip out if you heard him.....and these guys only have so many years to make money. He is also a guy that already had one knee surgery so he has to do what he as to. Of course the selfish part of all PSU fans want him back and will think of reasons why, but I don't see him ballooning into a 200 pound guy in a year or ever.

Darren Sproles certainly has enjoyed a long successful NFL career...

Sproles is 3 inches shorter than Hamler while weighing 20 pounds more. Guy is thick.

IMO A better comparison would be DeSean Jackson. He's listed at 5'10" 175lbs. Hamler just need to learn to avoid the big hit.
Spot on.

Hamler is explosive when he gets the ball in his hands....however, he seems to me like he has had a lot of drops the past three weeks.

There are a ton of little slippery guys in the NFL now. Jackson is great comparison, but he just needs to go to a team who can isolate him and get him in space. Sean Payton would work magic with him...as would a few others.

He’s leaving and he should and he will get drafted. He’s a game breaker who makes big plays. The NFL craves guys who are instant mismatches.

Hamler will need to add 15 lbs to survive in the NFL. I just don’t think he can take the pounding. But who could at 175 lbs...

Brandin Cooks and Wes Welker. Cooper Kupp is just as slight for his height.

People concerned about Hamler's size are the same ones who want to run man-to-man through the A gap out of i-formation. It's not 1980 anymore, keep up

Hamler is awesome and will do great in the NFL, but I think he needs to gain a bit of weight. Hopefully it doesn't slow him down...

Yeah he’s definitely a mismatch nightmare. As has been said, he’s got to learn to avoid the big hit. The play last game where they had him run between the tackles was just asking for him to get hurt.

At worst, he’ll be a third round pick in the 2020 draft. If his 40 numbers are what they’ve said to be, he could be a first rounder considering the film backs up the times.

This is why this year is the year!!!!

Hamler is gone. Look at great small players in the league. He is right up there.

When you count players leaving for nfl portal or graduation this is the year we can make a run!!!!

Beat minny!!!!!

if you're a PSU fan I'm not sure why you wouldn't want Hamler to leave early and be a high round pick. You want kids to see that the coaches can develop guys into NFL players. Just look at what Barkley leaving early has done for the RB recruitment over the past few years.

Desean Jackson is about same weight, he's had a very nice career. Jackson has much better hands though. His Weight is fine and will do well in the NFL.

Hamler does not have great hands. He had drops last year as well. He doesn't try to high point the ball and tries to catch with his body every chance he gets. He is elite when he has the ball in space and can beat press coverage off the line because he is so quick but his size and hands will be what keep him out of the early rounds of the NFL.

Aren’t you the guy who said UMd would be the first of our many losses this year?

I do not believe so. I haven't ever predicted PSU to lose to Maryland. I'll be happy to re-iterate what I thought before the season, though. I thought this was an 8-4/9-3 team. I thought the Iowa/Michigan/MSU games would probably produce at least one loss. I had tOSU as a loss as well.

I was obviously wrong about the 8-4/9-3 record. We are a year ahead of where I thought we'd be and I think 11-1 is probably where we end up. We can beat tOSU I just think it's more likely we lose that one than win it.

NFL scout wont be bothered by his frame.

His biggest question mark are his hands in bad weather, he does have a lot of drops in bad weather games and you need to catch those passes in the NFL to have success

Lmao at this thread.

Yes its 100% sure thing if he comes out this year he'll be drafted. There's a good amount of successful smaller speedsters in the NFL right now. As a PSU fan of course i'd want him back ... but the fact that people are asking whether or not he'd be DRAFTED? Lol

Well yeah I guess I should have said drafted in the 3rd round or higher. If its lower then that you have to guess if it makes sense to come back and put on some weight and work on any weaknesses he might have. Hamler might not want to get picked lower than the 3rd round.

Of course he will get drafted, cmon. Been comping him to Desean since HS. His largest obstacle of being selected in first couple rounds will be that this will be quite possible the best WR class in decades coming out. Bama has up to 3, Clemson kid, OU kid, Colorado kid and a few others. The class is absolutely loaded and could see 5 go in the first round.

Really? There is no doubt he will get drafted.

well if there is one thing this board excels at it is draft position predictions

amiright?

Good comp for size would be Marquis Brown, rookie WR out of OU w/Ravens. They have found a way to use him, I am sure someone else will find a way to use Hamler.
