You need to pass hydration testing to be able to practice and weight certed to be eligible to wrestle any matches. I’d say even if redshirting.

First one for me was junior year in h.s. football game. Since then Ive had way too many to count and still happens to this day. I'm a bit different in that for me there are no specific positions and just pops out when I least expect it. Hell, I shot a basketball one time and it popped out.

I will say this too, I never feel any pain anymore....its just feels weird is all.

Use a higher gauge shotgun next time! Less kick. :D

That sucks :(

I assume this means his Olympic asperations go down the drain as well. Just terrible news for Anthony after all he has been through. Well NCAA champion is something he can carry for life, what an awesome accomplishment.

I honestly think world class 260+ lb+ freestylers we're going to present a challenge for him anyway they are just freakishly big humans who are much more athletic that your typical big NCAA folk guys. Let's hope the shoulder doesn't keep him from his MMA dreams longer term.

In retrospect I would have loved to have seen Antny drop 20 lbs and have taken a run at Snyder, it would have been worth the price of admission for sure.

Does anyone have official word that he is done. If so please post the link.

Watch the video... High level athletes can’t compete with that kind of injury without time. Just my opinion, I could be wrong. Hope he can go and compete tomorrow!!

I don’t understand how know one can find out Kerk’s status. If this was football or basketball, we would have known day 1 or 2 of him transferring If he could play the season or have to sit a year

It's knot true that know one noes. Those who do no, aren't talking to those who don't no. ;) I could knot resist.

It works the same way on HR. We're all wondering the status of X...and it seems that nobody knows. But it's always as you said, the ones who are in the know, they know...but they're just not sharing with the rest of us. I know this is about Kerk, but I'm still hoping Cassar can go come March. I'd really like to see him and GS, Part II, and also see how well Tony Cass competes against both. Hate the way injuries seem to dictate this sport more than any other...

One person knows his status. One person knows the plan. Whatever that plan is, that’s the one I’m for.

Suriano didn't sit a year, or lose a year of eligibility. Just sayin. Totally different circumstances, but I don't know if the NCAA can enforce their rules any better than the Big 10 if challenged.
The major difference is that, at least from my memory, Suriano didn't transfer mid-year like Kerk. Also, the process of getting Suriano cleared took months. Kerk doesn't have months to go through the waiver process. Only 2 months from Big Tens. If Cassar is done, I think it'll be Nevills.

The obvious guy to take over for Cassar is Cenzo. He walks around at 200+ if I remember correctly.

Also Suriano wasn't dealing with a National Letter of Intent issue. He finished his full year at the school he signed with. So he was only dealing with getting a release from the Big Ten. It seems like the NCAA is giving more wiggle room on transfers but not sure that is the case when you are messing with a NLI situation.

Technically it would be AC/GS part III. Cassar is 2-0 vs GS. Que Jammie response.

Shiny penny syndrome.
Well, it's also because Kerk has demonstrated that he's capable of being a top 5 guy at this weight and Nevills isn't even a lock to qualify, let alone score meaningful points. In a year with a tight team race, it's natural to want to the better option to be available.

I think Kerk would still make the finals. Nevills may or may not qualify. Lets be honest people.

I think it is more about being honest as to what kind of fans we want to be. These are 18-20 year old kids we are talking about. They all deserve our full respect for the sacrifices they all make to give us such a great program to cheer for and follow.
The issues at 285 will be settled by Cassar's health and then eligibility/ability. Let's trust the guys that make the decisions to make the decisions. If we need Seth Nevills to be the guy this year, we should feel lucky to have him available. And if that happens, we owe him a debt of gratitude for burning a year of eligibility to help us win duels and score tournament points. We needn't be wringing our hands over the possibility of Nevills going for us. It will all work out.

Oh right, I forgot, every kid gets a paricipation trophy in todays society.

"I have not heard that he is done for the year.

As far as Greg’s eligibility, he can start right away, redshirt, or take an Olympic Redshirt. I don’t have any insight as to what Cael will do, but the plan was for Cassar to start and for Greg to take an Olympic redshirt, which would preserve his college redshirt and 4 years of eligibility."
