Is LJ Scott dumb or...

He’s been out 3 weeks with turf toe anyways. We have several devastating injuries on offense. Killed any hope at a good season.

Both starting guards and our RT will be out. 2 of top 4 WRs won’t play and Stewart the third WR will play with an injured ankle. Scott out at RB. Too much to overcome.

Should have gone to the No Fun League last year He's just creating more red flags for himself with his continued behavior for this years draft. Sitting on the bench with no 2018 season film is also not helping. He's not heading in a good direction. (Jumping down now from my soap box).

Plus you will playing what I believe will be a motivated PSU team coming off a bye week. I still think what happened in East Lansing is still on more than a few players minds.

Last years win total masked what was a 3 year rebuilding job from the 2016 debacle and player attrition. PSU was the best team in the big ten last year but we somehow picked off Trace 3 times, stupid roughing penalty by you end of game, plus that 4th down drop. MSU was ahead of schedule last year which helped coaching staff and payer depth issues be masked.

This year, Lewerke is pressing with all the injuries on the offense. He already has as many picks this year as he did last year and one of his best attributes, running, he isn't doing much of that this year.

And yes, I expect to get PSUs best shot. Bye week, tough loss 2 weeks ago...next week at IU is the trap game for you guys.

The Scott situation reminds me a bit of former Spartan great, Charles Rogers. Remember him? That guy was unbelievably talented - almost "Randy Moss-like" in terms of size and speed - but he was simply too dumb and/or he didn't care enough to abstain from smoking reefer "every day", by his own admission.

As for Scott, if Dantonio gives him yet another chance after multiple violations for the same thing, you have to begin to wonder if the inmates are running the asylum.

Or Plexico...hmmm I'm seeing a trend.;)

Whoa, that’s a boatload of injuries...

I suspect the team-doctor has his hands full*

Ha! Seems like IU is everyone's trap game.
Thoughts on your secondary?

Corners are ok with Scott our #1 corner having been out for the year. Willis is just a solid safety but Dowell hs really bad and routinely bites on play action and gets beat for big plays.

MSU has a really good rush D but a bad pass D. Your passing game should carve us up for multiple big plays.

I believe the PSU players still see the MSU lineman run the ball for a TD when we were down and relatively helpless at the end of the game several years ago. Those things are not forgotten for a long time and the video exists. That was a big fU to the team, coaching staff, school, etc. Memories are difficult to erase and they do motivate. When asked the next season, roles reversed, Morehead said no, we would not do the same ignorant thing but put up points with our base offense. I wish our former large kickoff kicker was still on the team, he'd have been a great tail back for that sort of role. Or we could pull a buckeye and do an onsides kickoff, up 40 points with less than a minute to go in the 2nd quarter? Seems to be a Big 10 thank you move.

Remember it like it was yesterday. During our "down" years during and after the sanctions, there seemed to be a good number of BIG brethren that enjoyed stomping on the back of our heads and pushing our faces into the mud. For that, you will never hear me lament coach Franklin for piling up the points against most any opponent. I for one would like to see us embarrass MSU on Saturday.

Theres a difference running the ball with a 5th year senior lineman after a fumbled kickoff return and throwing bombs with your starting QB. Dantonio shut it down the entire 4th. The TDs were a pick 6 and from a fumbled kickoff return.

If Cook was still throwing it deep with 5 minutes to go then it would be a fair comparison.

At any rate, MSU isn't very good this year with all the injuries. I expect Franklin will run it up in the 4th.

Good cover unit but struggle when it comes to tackling. But then again tackling seems to be a lost art. OSU killed us with the screen game and quick outs but that was largely because of poor tackling.

Your offensive linemen running the ball was an embarrassment to Penn State. Not a classy move. Some folks took their shots against PSU when we were down and ran up the score and thankfully Franklin doesn't forget that shit. Anyway, unfortunately these pollsters look at scores and so coaches are apt to keep the pedal to the medal.
I don't like it but I don't see it changing anytime soon. Joe was kneeling on the ball in the third quarter but nice guys finish last in this world.

Thanks for coming on the board to be reasonable. Me thinks that if you can stick around and get some turnovers it could be a game, but if not I expect your team may have a rough afternoon. Yes I do look for us to run up the score if the opportunity arises.
Hope your team gets healthy...a couple weeks from now.

Not really. Both are total d@#$ moves. If you handed the ball off to a 3rd string tailback and he scored, no hard feelings. But to run a play where a lineman carries the ball? That's rubbing our faces in the [mud].

True. People consider Franklin, Dantonio and Urban as pricks but they’ve all win recent big ten titles and are the best coaches in the league.

Why is an OL running the ball super disrespectful?

I would say if you are up big and dud it would be funny

Yeah. Our season is now to just beat UM at all costs. Don’t see it this year though our OL is that bad.

If your defense is any good you’ll live in our backfield and force some picks. Lewerke has 6 this year

Was at the IU/MSU game up there last year when LJ Scott sat a WHOLE SERIES!! Some Spartans we were with didn't care, others just kinda shook their heads resigned to being embarrassed by it.

It was an embarrassment for MSU. A classless move by a dick of a coach. What do you expect from a guy that calls timeouts down by four touchdowns with a minute left in the game?
I was there two years ago when we paid them back and I'll be there Saturday hoping for the same

The offensive lineman scoring made Penn State out to be a joke. We had a depleted roster at that time and it was humiliating.
That may have been funny to the MSU squard but no one was laughing at Penn State. I was furious. Anyway, you seem like a good guy. Thanks for being a reasonable poster.

Wasn't that the game we suited up 41 scholarship players and that was all we could field?

Dantonio started the jerk games in Beaver Stadium back in 2008 when Joe called a time out late to allow seniors to come off and be honored by the crowd. Dantonio took offense and called all his TO's in a freezing game with a few seconds remaining in a laugher. It was obvious and telling.

The big boy TD was anohter slap at PSU and PSU was not going to be down forever. That isn't done unless you are trying to shove it in the face of an opponent. Given the histronics of the MSU prez. over the Jerry issue and wanting to ban us from the conference all the while knowing she had a larger problem at her feet, sweeping it under the rug I believe the PSU faithful have had enough of MSU and any sign of disgurntlement from them of their cheery choach for any imagined slight. PSU has never been a big pour it on type team like some and even with the MSU history I'd not suggest doing it in return but if it happens I doubt many tears will be shed for Dantonio.

And this effing hypocrite was allowed to resign while having full support by their BOTs.

Might want to check with some recruits ... not sure they would agree on all three.

Holy crap was it really only 41? I knew that was at the height of our "illegal" sanctions but I didn't realize it was that bad.
Player safety my ass.:mad::mad::mad::mad: F the NCAA.
Yep. The NCAA is a worthless org led by an arrogant, narcissistic pos. Joe always knew that.

Yes, Paterno did PSU no favors by playing "nice". It used to drive me crazy. "When in Rome, do as the Romans do" comes to mind.
