Is Patrick Mahomes in the top 15 of NFL QBs all-time?

I think he will end up in the Top 10 for sure.
I wouldn't say for sure but he is trending that way. The big questions is whether he can maintain his style of play long term. Donovan McNabb was trending towards top 5 all time in the same offense until he hit the wall.

Ummmm, you have to win something before you can be considered top anything. Donovan Mcnabb was not close at any point in his career.

Who was mcnabb going to replace in a top 5. That’s laughable

I’m not sure he really understands anything about football.

McNabb never won a SB let alone 2 as early as Mahomes. Not sure where you're getting McNabb was trending to be a top 5 guy.

No doubt…and at this rate it could end up being top 5.
He could end up at 1 given his age and the rings so far. He just needs Reid to stick around for a while and the Chiefs to hire well when he leaves.

Mahomes and the Chiefs likely became as hated at the Patriots. Only Cincy and Buffalo really are threats at the moment.

So you are saying Trent Dilfer is better than Dan Marino, Donovan McNabb, and a host of others. Most of Tom Brady's rings have a huge asterisk next to them. How do they measure up?

I dislike Tom Brady as much as one anyone as a football player, but I can admit and acknowledge that he is a winner and in the top 3 of all time.

Winning a Super Bowl is not the only measure of greatness, so that discounts your Dilfer comment. However, McNabbs career was merely good; not great. Again, please cite who McNabb was going to replace as a top 5 quarterback.

McNabb might be a top 5 QB. However, you have to understand that there is a 20 or 30 in front of the 5.

I was merely making the point that in the ultimate team sport, Super Bowls can be meaningless in terms of individual greatness. Tom Brady has a bunch, but most of them are rubbish for various reasons, including the one over the Eagles. Brady is an all time great, but he isn't in my top five. Please pay attention, I never said McNabb was a top five player at the position, but he was trending there. Once he was no longer a major threat to run, he quickly turned into an average QB. I think he was better than Brady for several years. Andrew Luck is another QB who was trending towards top five but ran into a string of injuries. Mahomes is the best QB in the league right and if he keeps playing at the level he is playing it, he could be a top five.

You lost any credibility you had left when you said Brady isn’t in your top 5….just proves that you let your emotions control your opinions and you’re not rational when you’re discussing someone you don’t like.

You are delusional thinking mcnabb as trending.

He doesn’t have Brady in his top 5….that’s all the evidence you need to show he’s delusional. Anything else he posts is just further proof.

Same old AWS, lashes out anytime someone says anything you don't agree with. Very child like if ask me.

Calling you on your BS is not lashing out, it’s pointing out your very flawed logic (or lack of logic in most cases). You probably have Hackenberg ranked ahead of Brady on your all time QB list.

Say what you want, very few quarterbacks have ever played as well at McNabb did from 2000 to 2004, it is especially impressive given the lack of talent around him during that run. Unfortunately for him, he couldn't sustain it. Once he lost a step, he went downhill fast.

I'd put him in the top 15 to 20 right now but with a couple more outstanding years, he will definitely be in the top 5 to 10.

It is always an interesting discussion when you have so many changes to the game. Would you value a Bart Starr that called all of his plays but played in a time of running the ball? Mahomes already has more career completions than Starr. Say you cycle forward to Montana. Montana threw for a career 273 TDs in 192 games. Derek Carr has thrown for 217 in 142 games. I don't many people would rank Carr above Montana but the stats will bear out that Carr was greater.

I think you have to evaluate them against their peers. How much better is Mahomes than Josh Allen etc. and compare it to how great Steve Young was compared to his peers.

I think in the end (barring injury) you will see Mahomes as one of the all-time greats/

Mahomes has had 5 of the best years of any NFL qb. 64-16 record in his starts. He's doing things that nobody else can do. I'm not sure if longevity is that important. He's likely top 5 of all time already. If he plays for 10 and repeats what he's already done in his first five, he may be able to claim to be the goat.

He's only 27-years-old and there's exactly 4 QBs with more SB wins. From a raw talent perspective, he may be the best ever and certainly superior in that category to guys like Troy Aikman and Terry Bradshaw who have more SB wins. It would take a plague of injuries for him to not end up in the top-5 if he isn't there already.

He is at the age when Donovan McNabb (closest analog) started to go downhill. Mahomes is a better passer so he may have enough stamina to warrant a top five rating. Regardless, enjoy watching him play.

McNabb was a nice player and probably didn't get as much credit as he deserved in PHL, but never close to a great NFL QB. Brady has won 4 (at least) SBs past 27-years-old. Manning was in his 30s for each of his. Rodgers has won 2 MVPs past the age of 35. Obviously, you never know what the future has in store, but that's the class Mahomes falls in.
