Is this the beginning of a B1G resurgence??

Think about it. The B1G may hold the National Titles in Football and Basketball! Not to mention titles in WVB and Wrestling.

The general population cares mostly about Football and Basketball which is within our grasp. The future of the B1G is very bright in both sports. We've won or tied the ACC in the ACC/B1G Challenge how many years in a row and the ACC used to be the best BBall Conference. We have the reigning champion in football which will probably be the hands on favorite to repeat in 2015. The B1G suddenly has a wealth of coaching talent in Football with Myer, Franklin, Harbaugh and Dantonio.

Seriously, I think the time we have been waiting for is at hand. The great programs of the B1G are finally getting their acts together at the same time and are beginning to take over the college landscape.

Lord, I hope not. I want Bo to win it all, but I despise the BigTen.***

It should be the end to all the Big 10 bashing

It's the best all around sports conference in the country, even if Wisconsin looses to Duke. I love Big 10 ice hockey as well, even without a Ncaa champion there. The other major conference can't rival our programs there.

You forgot WVB (PSU). Also, we have excellent chances in other sports

every year, to include fencing, field hockey, ice hockey, M & W LAX, M & W soccer. Some of this results from Maryland's entry. Next season the Maryland men's basketball could be top ten.

Your topic has crossed my mind, too, recently. I don't know if there's a Learfield Sports Cup for conferences, but the BT might be at the top. What I plan on doing at the end of the school year is compile the national finalists and champs for every sport sanctioned by the NCAA. That will prove our disprove my thought. Indeed, the BT excels.

If UW wins the NC, should put the B1G/Delaney in even better shoes in negotiating the new broadcasting rights deals.

Which is another way that some people who will never be able to admit that a strong conference is beneficial to even the weak in the conference. Wisconsin winning a title obviously won't help a basketball program like Rutgers but it will help the school down the line in some way. Ohio State winning in football I would argue does benefit the PSU football program, especially if we want to be seen as their equals. Basically we are both going to win recruiting battles but kids may have been hesitant to go to a Big Ten school because well "the SEC wins the title every year" won't be thinking that way and may get a kid interested in PSU that might see the conference as a power now.

Plus Wisconsin and Ryan are easy to root for anyway. The Big Ten has had a bunch of very good teams in recent years that have just run into great teams. Still one of the most impressive tournament resumes. It's time to break through.

^ Yep - that is how Ol' Miss and Miss St. have benefited, why TAMU has been able to threaten UT when it comes to recruiting in Texas and why even UK FB has seen a bump in recruiting.

The thing is that when it comes to NCAA Tournament, the B1G has done very well (since 2000, has had a team in the Finals 7 times) but just can't see to win the last game.

You have to have been good at one time to have a resurgence. So in The Big Ten's case this question is N/A.
