It does not matter if you love the Big Ten's decision or hate it, the damage of having 3 other Power 5 conferences play while the Big Ten sets out will take a long time to recover from. I will be polite and say our 2021 recruiting has been average and does not seem to be getting any better. Bring in average recruits then you have an average team. Also not playing real competition will take a while to recover from in 2021. If there is some winter/spring "season" you would have to assume that would be mostly young guys because the best players would not play in those games. Bottom line not only did we miss a great shot at the CFP this year, we are not looking like we are out of it for quite awhile.
