James Franklin is a very good coach in many areas... HOWEVER, the one area that he has completely failed... is handling his QB's...

It's AMAZING, since he WAS a college QB... BUT, from the Trace McSorely / Tommy Stevens days... where we lost Tommy to a transfer to Mississippi State and essentialy had NO backup as a result... to the Sean Clifford / Will Levis debacle... which lead to Wills transfer to Kentucky, and penn State AGAIN having absolutely NO VIABLE back-up QB's... and the resulting back to back DEBACLES of Iowa & Illinois 2021 !

I think the way of handling college QB's has CHANGED with the transfer portal... and Penn State needs to adjust... EITHER, the QB's need to be in a constant competition for starting reps... where MULTIPLE QB's are Playing and are coinsidered the starter... depending on the effectiveness of their on field results... OR, you can NOT expect to have more than one good QB in any recruiting class, and expect them to sit behind ONE full time, and anointed starter... IT JUST will not work... as we have seen TWICE in 5 years...

It's time for James to wake up and smell the coffee... his coaching of QB's in the transfer portal age, needs to evolve !
