Was John on the sideline for the Akron win? Is there a pic someone can put up? Has his status been officially confirmed or is there "still a chance" a la Jim Carrey, hehe?

He is almost assuredly taking a RS this year. He's a really good defensive back but I think we're going to find out we don't need to risk rushing him back this year. That's not an indictment of John Reid, either. I just think we've recruited really well at DB the past couple of years and it looks like some young guys may be able to platoon the position if needed this year to make up for his loss.

Grant Haley will finish his eligibility this season, so Reid will be an important starter and leader next season.

Reid will be back next year regardless of whether he redshirts or not. And there is a dropoff at corner without him.

I could see one of Reid or Wade being moved to safety next year.
Would leave TCF and Zech M as starters/nickel with the one who does not move to safety. Throw in Isheem Young, Ayron Monroe and Amani and we are looking at an elite secondary.

Why? We have lots of talent teturning at Safety for 2018 - Scott, Monroe, Taylor, Petrishen, Sutherland, plus Young and Humphries.....

Allen and Apke play different positions. They are both starters.
Yes, but if Allen gets hurt, it will likely be Scott and Apke. It will be like our OL the past few years where they will play the best guys available and move people around instead of having a straight depth chart.

If we are going to slide a CB to safety, I would like for it to be Wade. He is short, but could play the position better than our other CBS, IMO.

The desire to have our best players on the field at the same time.

I never heard Coach Franklin say that he believes any of the current CB's would make better Safety's than the current Safety's......

And I believe CJF will always keep more DB's at CB to rotate and keep them fresh as well as for the 5 and possibly 6 DB cover packages.

And the fact that Scott is listed on the official PSU depth chart as 2nd team at Allen's position, Free Safety!!

Apke whiffed on a certain interception vs Akron. Want to see that cleaned up this week.

I know he is #2 on the depth chart, was just wondering why he did not appear in a 52-0 blowout.

Good point. I saw him on the sidelines a number of times during the TV coverage but never did see him in the game. Injury or discipline issue? I never saw Monroe in the game either.

Anyone know what's up?
