A bit of a gripe here. We are about 5 weeks away from the event and no one, I mean no one, has given any information of note about the event. Not Journeymen, not Flo ....

Lehigh has indicated they are going, but it's hard to figure out if you really want to go when you don't know the place and time or any of teams other than Lehigh that will be there.

Anyone have some scoop on the event?

Have you tried calling or emailing them? Contact info is on the Journeymen website.

I'm sort of leery of contacting someone who doesn't bother updating their website to give useful info for a tournament that will be held in five weeks. My confidence level that I will get a useful answer is extremely low.

This is honestly the first year that the event poster has not been released months in advance....Frank Popolizio does about 20 national events a year...He's a good dude....If you contacted him, I have no doubt he'd get you the information you seek.

Just to answer a few of your questions:

Location: Hudson Valley Community College...Same every year
Start Time: 9am-9:30......Same every year

Team that I have heard are attending:
-Buffalo
-Lehigh,
-Lock Haven
-Citadel,
-Ithaca College,
-NC State,
-North Carolina,
-Ohio State,
-Wisconsin,
-Rider,
-Arizona State
-Minnesota
-West Virginia

If you google the event name and date, it seems to come up with links to 2017 schedules of participating teams

Thanks for the info. Looks like a good event to attend. I did contact Journeymen to get answers and have not yet heard from them.

It's a tough call, but it's about an hour drive for my son to Troy and about 5 hours to State College. It's about 3 to Troy and 4 to State College for me. Given the number of teams at the Journeymen, we might do it and skip Stanford. I know, I know.

We expect a full scouting report on any wrestler that could impact Penn State's postseason success. Really, it's the least you can do.

You should be able to watch standford get throttled online while sitting at the journeyman and kill many birds with one data plan and a credit card

Frank got in touch with me and sent a copy of the poster. Sounds like a lot of fun and the wrestling/driving ratio is a lot more favorable, so Annieat285 will be scouting. We will watch the Stanford match the next day.

Apparently I have this as 2 different events on my website. I have the Journeyman Classic, as well as the Northeast Duals. I'll get that fixed today.

Another question, is this just a standard "tournament", or is it a bunch of "duals" all in one place?

My understanding is that the format is like the Southern Scuffle. I'm not sure how many wrestlers can be entered by each team.

Edit - my recollection was a little flawed. The format is a bit different. I was told "This is an individual tourney w/ a unique round robin format." I guess more information is forthcoming.

To my knowledge, the "duals" isn't a thing anymore. Those teams will be entering their wrestlers into "mini-tournaments" or "flights" to maximize matches and see different bouts we might not see in duals. I'll have Frank coming up on my show in a few weeks to fully get the details on the change in format.
