I'm writing off Tuesday to watch the Junior Worlds live. I will do what can to post updates. Feeling excited for our kids they are an excellent bunch and all of the coaches who've pitched in are top notch. Wrestling is a blessing
Mark Hall with a brutal draw. Russia in the 2nd round (3rd- Yarygin) and Iran in the quarters (1st- Junior Asian Championships).
Moore gets Iran right away.
Thanks and ouch ugh. I get butterflies around this stuff but wouldn't have it any other way.First day draws can now be seen. Hall gets a guy from Ukraine in the first round and then will have a really big match up in the second round against winner of the Russian (Valiev) and the Azerbaijan (Abduliaev). Here is a write-up on the first day, which starts tonight at 3 AM Eastern time (Finland is seven hours ahead): http://www.teamusa.org/USA-Wrestling/Features/2017/July/31/Junior-Worlds-FS1-Weigh-in
Seems you have that backwards. Hall is the defending champ so I would say the Russian & Iran entries are the ones that got the brutal draw.
Yeah butterflies. I am surprised how nervous I get before other people's matches. My own were nerve wracking for sure. But I get just as nervous before my son's matches. Watching the kids on our Junior team feels almost as intense. Not disputing that, but still a shitty draw.
Repechage makes it worse.Yeah butterflies. I am surprised how nervous I get before other people's matches. My own were nerve wracking for sure. But I get just as nervous before my son's matches. Watching the kids on our Junior team feels almost as intense.
Yup just got on fingers crossedHall up first on Mat 3
Feels good beating a RussianNice win! Russian's offense not even close to cutting it against Mark. Tough dude though.
You're not wrong, but when somebody figures it out, you're kinda screwed. McKee could be the future of our Senior team. It's not that I don't think he has offense, but if he coasts to a JR Worlds title off nothing but a head pinch, my respect for this tournament will greatly fall. The head pinch seems to be working though
