Thanks for taking part. My personal guess is that you are likely to be altering your view of young Mr. Bartlett after the matches you mentioned.
Murin might win the dual. By the postseason, Sasso will be the measuring stick.
There are more than a few of us that think Sasso is the measuring stick in the preseason.....
He means Sasso will be Bartlett’s measuring stick as he will have left Murin behind and would then focus on the constant ultimate measuring stick (I.e. the #1 guy)

Also, in the regular season, each individual opponent is its own measuring stick. In the postseason, the goal is different.
Plus the schedule says Bartlett will face Murin before facing Sasso.
He did. But @Hoosier Lion has been consistently saying Nick is our 141. And it was also reported by @CSauertiegPSU that Beau was moving up to 149. Not saying Willie isn’t well connected, but IMO, you gotta go with Hoosier and CS.
To clarify here, I am also only going off of peripheral information of which Willie may have the same as I do at this point.
As more pick in this hypothetical, Beau is the far more dynamic wrestler. If he doesn’t have issues on bottom he wins somewhat comfortably.
Murin looks big and strong this year. I think the cut was a little taxing on him last year. I see him as a 5-8 AA this year. Bartlett is certainly the more "athletic" guy in terms of quickness and explosive attacks. The question is a matter of when not if Bartlett passes Murin. I tend to side with experience during this years dual. 6-5 Murin. Post season flip the script.
I'm not sure why Murin is getting so much love from preseason rankings. Two tries at Bigs he has finished 7th and 5th..
I admit I have only seen him wrestle a few times, but he seems to be a guy who wants to horse guys around Iowa style. 149 guys will be harder to horse..

I’m sure the PSU coaching staff are having Nick Lee and/or Zain beat the tar out of the poor young man. I’m guessing he’ll be alright.
He’s a far, far more offensive minded wrestler than Murin. And very skilled. If he doesn’t get horsed around and can get off bottom, he'll be fine if he sticks to a higher tempo.

Or... will it MATTER if Bartlett can get off bottom? What difference will it make if he gets rode out if he takes him down 8 times?
I don't recall Nick taking Murin down 8 times. Beau is great and will get better, but Murin doesn't give up a lot of points.
I see Max winning a savvy decision in the dual and maybe even Big Tens. NCAAs after Beau sees him twice (assuming they matchup) Give me Beau.
Why didn't we recruit Sasso?

To be fair, after working past 12 last night I was just getting up. Of course, it might not have made much difference. I still feel foggy.
I'll take a great finisher over a great defender any day. My $ is on Beau right out of the gate, 8-5.
I didn't say I wouldn't pick Beau--at least not at nationals. I just don't think putting up 16+ points on the guy is likely.
I'll go 4-3 Beau in the dual, and a 4pt margin in the postseason.
For reference: Nick Lee faced Murin twice, both in the 2019 postseason. 8-3 win at B10s, then 4-1 win at NCAAs.
Verk and his diabetes would struggle against Murin. They are probably 1. 2 or 3 point matches, but Max and his gas tank almost certainly wins 9 out of 10 matches against Verk.
