Just heard on Sirius NFL Radio that Harbaugh wanted Denver job, but . . .

Denver moved too slowly per Tom Pelissero. To our trolling Michigan fans, I'd be surprised if he isn't back in the NFL very shortly.

Why would any recruit consider Michigan knowing full well that the entire coaching staff recruiting them is very likely gone in a year? For that matter, the assistant coaches have to have one foot out the door now. They need to start looking at options to protect their own careers.

I think he'll go to the NFL at some point too but who knows how accurate these reports are. It's easy for anyone to say he wanted "X" job but they moved too slow when no openings have been filed yet as far as I know.

I could be wrong, but I don't think Harbaugh actually bothered to interview in person with Denver. So I'm not sure how much he wanted the job, or how much Denver wanted him. I believe Denver wants to figure out if they can land Sean Payton before moving on to Plan B candidates such as Harbaugh.

FWIW, I think Harbaugh would be a good candidate for Denver; I don't think Denver will land Payton; and I expect Denver to end up hiring a coach who is not as good as Harbaugh.

That’s what everyone has said since his second year at Michigan. Same song and dance every off season. 🤷‍♂️

I don't understand how they'd have the draft capital fir Payton personally so I feel like that's a waste of time.

I'm not quite sure I understand that claim. Was there a deadline for him to declare he was returning to Michigan?

I would believe that Harbaugh knows it would be a bad look to have to wait a couple weeks and hurt recruiting. Such distractions can be really damaging. He doesn’t want a drawn out to process to affect his success at Michigan.……because that affect his reputation and ability to get a top NFL job in the future.

I think the implication is that Harbaugh wants to be chased--not go through an interview process
I agree - I think he wants to be pursued and wine and dined and begged to take the job which I am not sure any team will do but he for sure wants back in the NFL on his terms.

With everything going on at Michigan maybe he’s available again
