I was just told that since Monday October, 24 2016 the NLC has received nearly 2,000 new deposits for 2017 season tickets, and it by far exceeds the number of new requests in any given year since they started tracking such statistics.

At first I found that kind of hard to believe, but figured I'd share. For those of you who are interested in purchasing season tickets for the first time, I'd strongly urge you to put your deposit in prior to the February 1st deadline. Ticket assignments happen in March after current season ticket holders are given the option to renew. Can't wait to see consistent sellouts again at the Beav.

We're back baby.

I've heard that they are reducing overnight RV parking 2017. Moving them away from the stadium and shuttling them in.

I noticed that the other day on a press release (that indicated "over 1,900..." just before the B1G CG it was 700). That's got to be at least 5,000 more tickets sold per game, right? Assuming all actually buy new tickets and each applicant gets 2.5 or more tickets. I wonder how many ticket brokers are in that lot, lol!

I am absolutely certain those are Pitt fans buying up Penn State season tickets so that they can watch their beloved Panthers play on September 9th. The Pirates, the Symphony, the Zoo, Kennywood Park, and the Opera and all that hoidy toidy metropolitan area big city culture be damned!

Are they going to decrease the number admitted or just require a prepaid ORV pass?

What is the RV council?

That's what I was going to write. Mayor of RV town? Does that come with a sash?

I wonder how many of the new season ticket holders are in the nosebleeds in the north deck where they got rid of the mandatory donation and you just pay face for the tickets.

My cousin who is on the RV council said that is not true. Just information.

I will wait to see what sandy's Chair of the Recreational Vehicle Space Allocation Committee says.

(For those wondering, members of said Committee are salaried and serve on the Committee as their sole responsibility to Penn State. The Committee meets once a year.)

What is the RV council?
I asked my cousin and he said that about 30 RV people met with as assistant AD and some adminstrators. That it was part of the overall facilites plan. The meeting was about improving the RV experience. So far they have only had one meeting. He said that it was more of a RV owner advisory board....kind of. Penn State was looking for feedback.

I know they were handing out RV surveys in the early games asking all kinds of improvement questions

Band wagon jumpers. PSU goes 9-3,8-4 and they are gone. Sorry lot

It's not all about wins and losses for everyone. Many held tickets through far worse years than those.

I got my season tix in 2000. Five dark years with no hope in sight.... until 2005.

I will never forget rolling up on Friday of the Ohio U. game in 2012. We did not know if to expect a ghost town or biz as usually in the OHV lot. That evening after watching Rv's roll in all day (a little less then in years past), I told my wife, "The early season game RV'S are hard-core fans; they ain't walking away. PSU will be OK as long as we don't go 0-12 and O'Brien can coach." We lost to Ohio and then to VA. What a time to be a fan :D

They need to increase the overnight RV lo and install water and 50 amp hook ups and a dump station. They need to make it easier for the RV'ers, not more difficult.

I convinced my wife to get a pair of season tickets and was going to wait until I could select my seats at the time I buy them. Iso that possible? I know you could at the Blue White game the past couple of years, but I won't be able to go this spring.

I don't know if I want to put a deposit down and then get seats in the upper end zones. I would prefer the sidelines like EJ or WJ.

Any tips would be appreciated!

Sooner I am not an RV guy but I see what PSU charges the RV customers to park. For that kind of coin a dump station is very reasonable and would be a goodwill accommodation for people and would not cost a lot of money. You need a double-wall fiberglass tank, I dunno, 10,000 gallon?, a concrete pad and some camlock connections. Pump it dry on Sunday, same company that services the portables can handle it.

Beats having Cousin Eddie running around doing his thing.

I don't know what electric and water would cost, but sanitary dump should be easy, quick, and cheap.

I held season tickets for nearly 40 years, through seasons good and bad, and gave them up for a reason unrelated to record...STEP. I was loyal to Penn State but that loyalty was not returned. STEP made clear what I should have known all along, that Penn State football is a business. That makes every ticket buyer a consumer and if the consumer does not like the quality of the product they should feel free to stop buying it. In my eyes that makes them no different than a person who walks away from a bad restaurant, or attorney, or plumber. They are not a sorry lot. They are smart consumers.

I have told them on the phone and in writting that I would pay more than the current astronomical (they doubled the prices 3 years ago for ORV) prices for full hook-up. Trust me, they love the RV for the helicopter shots for TV and recruits, but could not care less about the RV lot as long as the $ keeps coming.

And who knows the deal the ever expanding "Rent-A-Rv" companies (there are 2) have cut a with the Admin. That is a different story though...

It depends on how many NLC points you have. The more you have, the sooner you can select seats, meaning you should have a better selection. According to the guy I spoke to, within a "point to group," so to speak (i.e. a bunch of people within a certain range), it comes down to who plunked ticket money down first.

If you are getting tickets and "donating" for the first time, you'll probably still be able to get sideline seats, just higher up and/or closer to the end zones. He also said, despite all the hype, he didn't expect season tickets to sell out.

"Shitter's full, Clark!"
I was binging on "The Americans" with my wife when I read Fox's Cousin Eddie remark and burst out laughing during an especially tense moment in the show. Jane gave me a dirty look; I knew that trying to explain that I was laughing at a mention of Clark Griswold's hillybilly cousin wouldn't fly so I just shut the hell up.

Just doin' what I do Jim.

I hereby motion for the Karen B. Peetz memorial RV dump station. It should include a mural of her on the ground with the hose connection going straight through her mouth. This sort of political statement would surely become a distant memory in a year or 2, so I'm sure she'll have no problem with it.

Having gone to the B1G CCG and Rose Bowl this year, we have contemplated getting season tickets through our older daughter since she is a recent PSU grad (I understand there is a discount for that?) and would be able to request these tickets ourselves in the future. I understand it takes time to build up NLC points when paying the minimum amount, so my question is about how many years will it take to get to the point where we are confident we can get "post season" tickets through NLC? Are we talking 3-4 years or 20+ years?

I usually get my tickets from a friend who now lives in Dallas and has been an NLC member for 30 years. With my youngest daughter now a freshman at PSU (transfer from RU) I know I want season tickets for at least the next three years, but not sure the "investment" will be worth it after that if I still can't get "post season" tickets.

NLC points aren't worth much any longer. Big 10 championship tickets were $6 day of game and rose bowl was face value on game day. You'll be donating thousands of dollars to 'possibly' save less. You'll have the piece of mind to be able to get tickets from PSU, but you'll often time spend more than non-NLC people would for tickets, while donating $$$ for that right.
