Don't get me wrong i love Jimmy and all our wrestlers but he has had years now to prove himself and is is just not happening. Kade on the other hand puts up big time bonus points and has improved every year. He is a very dangerous wrestler who can beat anyone at any given time. Rasheed is kind of in the same boat. He looks a lot better at 174 and points up big time bonus points. He just beat Geno today and the ONLY reason Geno stays close to him is knowing Rasheed's style and playing defense all the time as Cael mentioned during the press conference....Love to see Kade at 141 and Rasheed at 174....

I'll read all this after I go and put a full court press on my shitter.....

What can I say....football and wrestling all day.... I neglected things.

Can't believe I'm responding to this, but spyk seems like a good guy most of the time.

1) You can't just bench JG after this, but it certainly opens up the competition (as Cael pretty much stated). Moss lost to the same kid. A week ago Jimmy blew the doors off a pretty good kid. He's just really inconsistent - it is what it is. Until Moss shows he's ready to battle for an AA (which he didn't today), Jimmy is still your best bet, unless he goes completely into the tank. From his past history, that probably isn't the case. This is pretty much what has been going on the past couple years. He's just as likely to beat somebody ranked in the top ten in a couple of weeks. And then proceed to lose to an unranked guy a couple of weeks later.

2) Geno has been good so far. Rasheed and Morelli are obviousy pretty close - even against outside competition. Let the battle play out until we get into the meat of the B1G schedule. There is nothing to lose here - two guys who both have shown potential.

Kade Moss
-Greco background
-Once pinned Dean Heil
-Hot Streak at Scuffle
-One insane pin ptreak at NLO against fringe D1 wrestlers (sans William Koll).

And so we are left with KADE MOSS- big time bonus. But I'm sorry, it's just not true. Moss has 3 bonus victories against NCAA qualifiers. Jimmy has 6 (and I'm not counting a one-legged Manley).

I wonder if this is what will eventually happen to Ohio State's Brendan Fitzgerald. He pinned Corey Keener and Stevan Micic at the Eastern Michigan Open.

Stay with Jimmy.

Where to start with this...

Cael doesn't go to practice?

Staring lineup?

I would definitely say that JG is and has been scouted a lot more than Moss. That, I think, being the reason for 'some' big wins. Once scouted, the big moves diminish a bit. We'll see. Let's be fans - we don't know nearly enough to be making the decisions. I'll never put myself up against the PSU staff.

I have been encouraged by Jimmy's aggressiveness this year so far. I think they are drumming into his head that he needs to be more aggressive to win consistently. But with aggression comes the chance you will leave yourself open to attack. He hasn't yet mastered the art of being aggressive while staying in great position. He's got 4 months to fix it. Don't give up on him yet.

Most important thing that happened this weekend - no one got hurt.

Let's qualify a full boat and I'll take our chances
Thanks for the input guys. It's a tough decision but i am getting so frustrated watching Jimmy. But then i think to myself...Just think how he feels....I just hate watching him play the pity me part after he gets beat....Oh well that's why Cael gets paid the big bucks....

The worst part about a struggling Jimmy is that it doesn't bode well for a Lehigh shutout.

Next year though

Not saying anything about who should be the starter but your argument is COMPLETELY without merit. Jimmy has been the starter for 3 years and Kade for 1 year so shouldn't Jimmy have 3 times as many bonus victories against NCAA qualifiers? And yet you state that Jimmy has only 2 times as many. Your post is a prime example of How to LIE with statistics.

Ok, whatever dude. Jimmy has not had 3X the opportunities, unless you think Jimmy has wrestled 72 NCAA qualifiers. Either way, Jimmy's stats don't really matter, because most of them are at 133. He's not a bonus guy either. My problem is people framing Moss as a bonus wrestler. He's not. Here's a stat. feel free to double check if you want: http://www.wrestlestat.com/wrestler/15933/moss-kade/profile

Kade Moss- 5-19 against NCAA qualifiers
3 of those wins by bonus- Heil, Sabatello, David Pearce
Other wins- Fisher, Gasca

I mean, Bo friggin Nickal scored 2 bonus points at nationals last year, and we're to expect Kade Moss to go out there and just put Mike Longo on his back like it's no big deal?

I'm for having an open competition between Moss and Jimmy, but I wouldn't give it to Moss based solely on what happened on Sunday. He needs to outperform Jimmy in Reno for me to feel good about giving him the job full time.

Jimmy's struggles so far this season have me really down on 141 as a whole. There's a ton of talented guys at that weight and we're likely looking at a scenario where we may get 1 or 2 wins at Nationals, and that's it.

Another not everything is equal data point.

McKenna 2-1 vs logan everett, army
Jimmy 17-6 vs (the same) logan everett, army

The action was 1 week apart

I think they should give Rasheed a few tough duals, to verify that his gas tank is not an issue. Like you said, let it play out. Either way, we look like we have some potential at 174.

Priesch would be a good start. He's ranked, having a good year so far, and Rasheed would have an opportunity reverse a result from last year.
