"I am personally saying mea culpa," Williams said in an Inquirer story published yesterday. "I needed all the evidence, and I didn't have it. And we need all of it, to restore the public's trust across this commonwealth."

Kane, in a letter she's expected to send Williams today, says she has "hundreds of offensive emails circulated in a network that includes" Fina, Costanzo and Blessington. She said she will "immediately release these emails to the public" - as long as Williams assures her that it would not violate a grand-jury protective order tied to a corruption case that Kane dismissed and Williams later prosecuted.

"Had you simply asked for these emails during your investigation, I assure you I would have provided them to you," Kane wrote in a draft of the letter obtained by the Daily News.

The batch of emails that was released in August included images that portrayed blacks as obsessed with fried chicken and a photo of a pants-less woman on her knees performing oral sex on a man, with the caption: "Making your boss happy is your only job."

The emails that have not yet been released are rumored to be quite lewd and include video.

My comment: This thing has the feel of being on the brink of exploding in a welter of fear, shame and embarrassment for everyone involved in the judicial system of the Commonweath. Naturally, Seth is going to give her his assurances that the GJ protective order will not be violated by the release, right?

The level of duplicity here is not sustainable. Somebody is going to look an awful lot like a hypocrite and a liar (not to mention a racist and a misogynist) very very soon. Who's it gonna be, Seth? You or Frankie? Hmmm?

And not a moment too soon. These termites need exterminated, not allowed to slink off and then resurface later. A good dose of FSE is exactly what the bastards need.

Lincoln Steffens, who doubtless you heard of, wrote about this kind of stuff in Pennsylvania a hundred years ago. The more things change, the more they stay the same. And unless things start getting blown up, it will be the same in another hundred years.

Read the comments.

They are about 95% anti Williams, et al.

Turns out Ms. Kane is a pretty good poker player.
She will need to be when she is in jail. She had all of these bastards, until she let her massive, partisan ego get in the way, and perjured herself. They will all be in jail together.

Excited about thread title, disappointed when opened....

:D
Now, 'nighter, we talked about this. Unclench that right hand and step away from the lotion bottle for 5 minutes. that is prolly all it will take. Once your temples stop pounding you can take a beta-blocker and get back in the game, but for now you are on "injured (impaired?) reserve." LOL.

Imagine what is goin on in Frank Fina's head right now. Clearly the boy always liked his porn, and if this was what he was trading in emails at work, then God Only Knows what his private emails look like. Virus laden websites got warning notices when they opened one of HIS links.

Strictly from Frank's POV, do you suppose that one of his biggest regrets is that he took his hobby to work with him?

A friend of mine always loved hunting and always wanted to be a cop. Went in the service and was an MP, then got out and worked as a cop for a while, then got a job as a game warden. He was miserable. Deer season to him had been one of the great joys of his life, and now it was a nightmare of 24/7 patrol and law enforcement and arresting people and filing reports. For 10 years he had to go to another state to hunt. He finally quit.

Clearly, Fina is in the same kind of sticky wicket--the great love of his life, his favorite hobby, got bollixed up with his work to the point where you just can't separate them out anymore. He is a sex-crimes prosecutor with a porn problem (unlike a folksinger friend of mine, who says he is a heavy drinker with a guitar problem), and now the whole sordid, tender, steamy business is about to appear on the front pages of the paper. I predict that by the time we are done, investigators will be auditing and tracking the Kleenex and hand lotion usage in Seth's office.

I am imagining bales of facial tissues arriving at the Philly DA's office (the cheap stuff, not Kleenex, too expensive) and there being no way to track what happened to it.

Sorry, you are wrong. She has a law license, but it is suspended at the moment (in part on the vote of Eakin, who was clearly conflicted at the time of his vote, and knew it.) Not worried one bit about "how it looks" to have reprehensible scum like your buddies, Fina, Seth and Eakin, say she is a bad person.

The supreme court which suspended her license is the same one which ignored the kids for cash scandal. I would not get too far out over my skis defending their "wisdom."

OK.... I'll admit that I am slow on the uptake and with me not living in PA it makes following some of this more difficult since I do not know all of the players etc...

Can someone give me a Cliff Note version of how this directly or indirectly ties in with the Sandusky mess? Is this basically a "hypocritical" argument or does porngate have a dotted line to the Sandusky stuff...

LOL. Judging by past examples from you, you will live to forget this position of yours.

You always "forget," and then move on to your next grievously erroneus position. And, you never, ever, learn. It is kind of pathetic to watch. Sad that you cannot see that.

THE VERY PEOPLE SHE IS INVESTIGATING DECIDED TO PULL HER LAW LICENSE, WITHOUT DUE PROCESS, TO SILENCE HER.

CAN YOU NOT SEE THIS CONFLICT OF INTEREST?

Fina is the guy who created the C/S/S bullshit narrative in cahoots with Feudale, who is wrapped up in this mess too (relating to grand jury leaks). Also, all of these guys were working for Corbett when he was AG and did not aggressively pursue Sandusky. So, yes. This is all related.

I don't know of any direct tie to Sandusky's case.

Kane got elected with a huge outpouring of support form PennStaters. She promised to investigate whether Corbett had slow-walked the JS case while he was running for governor. Fina was Corbett's assistant AG Even though Corbett's successor had deleted/tried to scrub all the emails, KK's investigator Moulton found them. When that happened Frank Fina got VERY uptight and attacked Kane, because he knew she was holding his future in her hands. He then convinced a DA to indict Kane.

It is definitely fallout from Sandusky and particularly the smarmy way Corbett F'ed PSU, but I do not think it would be fair to call it directly tied to the JS case.

I'd call it a dotted line. This article provides a pretty good timeline:

Dem you always have a great perspective on things...I'm not a Pa resident but just can't imagine how corrupt the old boy network is...

My question to you ( if you could share your insight)...Does any of this...in any way help Sollers with the Paterno case?

I know these are different cases...but still leads eventually back to overall corruption and double standards...is there anything here that in the long run...could help the Paterno's?

I appreciate the vote of support but I am not a PA resident either. It is certainly to the good of the Paternos generally when the top deputy to Corbett, the sex crimes prosecutor who handled Sandusky, is discredited, but it is hard to see how it directly helps them. Without Sandusky there would be no Kane, and without Kane there would be no emails. For those of us who think that all the truth has to come out, then every bit of this helps the Paternos generally.

Kane pledged to investigate why Sandusky's arrest took so long. She did. While doing so she came across this stuff.

Is what they are doing even a crime? I mean unless kiddie porn was involved, they all will be fired or forced out, but criminally I don't see them going jail time.

She hasn't done crap in terms of investigating JS. False promises. JS stays in jail and it's a disgrace.

Well, Fina prosecuted other Pennsylvania officials for using their offices, equipment, and time for purposes other than their official purposes ("theft of services," he called it), so according to Fina himself it would be criminal for him to while away his taxpayer-funded hours trading porn on his PA government-issued PC.

Yes, the crime would be theft of services....you know, that very same crime Fina and the rest of Corbett's cronies put folks (Corbett's political enemies) in jail for during bonusgate/computergate.

IOW Fina et al are HUGE hypocrites. At the same time they were putting folks in jail, the prosecutors themselves were doing the very crimes they put people in jail for.

Couldn't make this stuff up if you tried.

In terms of her review of why the JS investigation took so long (aka the Moulton report) I felt Kane disappointed but she did make it clear Moulton found "inexplicable delays"....they just weren't able to prove the delays were politically motivated so the media completely glossed over it (shocking right!!).

The delays included waiting 2 freaking YEARS to do the following (after JS was already indicated mind you):
-search JS's house
-search TSM (no warrant required for this one btw)
-subpoena CC CYS
-ask UPPD if they had any previous reports/cases re: JS (hello 1998 report!)
-talk to the Clinton County CYS worker who indicated JS and review their report

The above are all things that should have been done right off the bat but corbett/fina dragged their feet on for 2 years...hmmm....nothing to see here!!

It's also been said by Kane's camp that at least one kid was abused during this 2 year span while fina et. al. were twiddling their thumbs, swapping porn, and giving V1 and his mom the runaround.

When you factor in all the above, I think it's safe to say that corbett/fina's prosecution/investigation of JS was a disgrace on NUMEROUS levels. If fina had done everything by the book he would have had no issues with Kane digging into his investigation.

Was that the elections stuff of something different? There are very specific laws about not using state resources for campaigning/electioneering.

Yeah, but as I understand it, they piled the "theft of services" charges on top of that.
For example, they just nailed some judge for running a property investment business out of his chambers.
Basically, if you're a government employee you're only supposed to be using government resources for government purposes.

Nate, you totally misrepresented things here. Kane indicated that she would conduct a review of the investigation that lead to the JS charges. She absolutely, 100% fulfilled this promise. She hired an outside investigator, which was a smart thing to do in this situation, to conduct the investigation. H. Geoffrey Moulton, Jr. conducted the review, and his report was released on May 30, 2014.

AG Kane never promised to investigate JS. Unless new crimes are alleged, the AG would not have any interest or requirement in investigating him. As for whether his staying in jail is a disgrace or not, that's for his defense attorney to address. The AG's office would have no interest in having a convicted individual released from jail. About the only way the AG office would get involved in investigating JS was if credible facts came to the AG office that showed the police or the AG officials involved in the investigation or prosecution of JS operated in an illegal manner.

Speaking of partisan hacks, have you moved to Delaware yet?

It's crazy how you guys eat this stuff up.

Why would Williams request the emails as part of the sting investigation? Why would emails totally unrelated to the case violate GJ rules?

They literally have no material worth to the prosecution unless it's specifically about the case.

In hindsight one could claim it shows racial bias. Just more political grandstanding by Kane as Williams had no idea what they contained.

The reality is the lead agent on the case was African American, as is Ali. Good luck proving racial targeting without those two confirming it.
