pish,
come on man. he lost a match he should not have lost, but to an NCAA qualifier that has outgrown 184. Not exactly a nothing.
to top that off... he was in on several shots and simply didn't finish on some creative counters.... experience gained... he's good to go...

It's just the first few matches against unranked opponents and Mark does appear to be getting on board with the whole bonus point thing. I felt we might see a super skilled competitive kid like Mark find his way to bonus point land his sophomore year. So far so good.
P.S. Mark kills from double unders I hope we see more of this as the year goes on.
Good to see Mark join the bonus parade, but I think it was double overs not unders :)

Nevills got rode in second, had to erase 1:33 of riding time in third, which he did. Both guys came very close to losing their ride to a reverse but neither did. Nevills managed to tilt Kasper for two back points in third, going up 3-0. Kasper escaped, making it 3-1, and that's where it finished. Nice win for Nevills for seeding purposes.

I was picturing the unders he has crushed with in the past. He used double overs on "the bull" at the team trials last summer but he's used unders on Chance-A Valencia-and Joe Smith. It was the unders I miss. Not that it matters the pin was boss and was a nice addition to the PSU talent show.

I can’t wait for Nevills/Coon. Nick has man strength this year
Nick has put some solid weight on, he has been wrestling and training uninjured for 20 straight months.

The other consideration that is probably overlooked is the NLWC brought EricThompson back this year to train with Nick. Nick has Cael and Jake to wrestle with and sometimes Gwiz is around, but having Eric to wrestle with daily gives Nick a large high quality training partner that pushes him past what he is comfortable with. Other than Snyder it is going to take a large effort to beat Nick this year.

I have a request. Please don’t post results from other events in the middle of these threads. They are spoilers.
Well, the kind of results that appear here during a tournament tend to be the ones that don't get their own thread, so it's pretty common practice, not sure you're going to be able to get buy-in on that proposal.

Eric Thompson, a three-time National Champion wrestler has joined the Lock Haven University wrestling coaching staff as a volunteer assistant coach.

Thompson, a Shell Rock, Iowa native who has spent the last two-plus years training with the Nittany Lion Wrestling Club, was a three-time NAIA National Champion at Grand View University.

Recently he finished fifth at the 2016 United States Olympic trials.

Thompson was a World Team trials qualifier in 2009 and 2014, and is a two-time Senior Level All-American.

In high school, Thompson went 178-13 and won two Iowa State Championships while competing for Waverly-Shell Rock High School.

The 2015 Grand View University graduate (Bachelor of Arts; Liberal Arts) was the 2012 NAIA Wrestler of the Year.

“We are excited to add Eric (Thompson) to the staff,” said Moore. “His resume speaks for itself and his ability, skill level and enthusiasm will be vital to our guys, both on the mats and off. He will be a major asset to our upper-weights’ growth.”

Who was most outstanding wrestler? My vote is for Bo. Watching what he did live was super impressive.

And I hope Nick doesn't try to use it -- that is exactly what Coon wants. Minimize tie-ups. Change directions, angles, eye level ... make Coon react. He'll be perfectly happy to lean on Nick and hand fight.

Bo had three pins in under a minute and one TF that took longer for the tournament. :) Nevills gave up 4 points total, all escapes, in 5 matches? Nice job by Nick.

The surprise may have been NW's performance. They must be happy with how they did.

I really think deakin is going to be a tough out. it would not be shocking to me if he shook up the rankings at midlands. guy is huge, has a motor, strong, etc.
