Kyle McCord calls Ohio St's last 2 seasons "complete failures"

He's right. Anything less than a title is a failure. That's their goal and should be the goal for everyone. There's no participation trophies at this level
OSU has won two championships in the last sixty years or so, not counting all of their Big 10 championships and bowl wins. I would dare say that not all of those many seasons in which they didn’t win championships were failures. If so, that’s a totally unrealistic expectation.

By the way, I wouldn’t be surprised if they have another “complete failure” of a season this year by those standards, because I have a feeling that they’re going to take a little step backwards this year.

It's not. You can take pride in accomplishments in a season while acknowledging that the failure to beat Michigan and Georgia meant your season wasn't successful.

We took a huge step forward last year but still didn't beat Michigan or Ohio State and we yet again failed to make the playoff. So while I'm happy with the results we didn't accomplish our goal. That's a complete failure in my book.

You realize Day's on the hot seat for a reason, right?

Really? According to your definition, Alabama's been a "complete failure" 80% of the last 5 years. LMAO - you're such a moron, it isn't even funny.

Ask Bama fans if they think not winning a title is a failure...just because you have low expectations doesn't mean intelligent people do. Failure is necessary in life--you learn from it. You're the type that settles instead of trying to get better.

Yes, you are Ohio St fan pretending to be a Michigan fan.
No I'm not but it sure is fun to see you get all bent out of shape over OSU. It's comical that anyone that disagrees with you is an OSU follower,

BTW.........GO BLUE, beat those cheating Buckeyes

We know your shtick. You make over the top predictions about Michigan dominating everything which worked well when Ohio St could actually beat Michigan. But that is years ago now. Your posting history doesn't lie. And how insecure are Buckeye fans that they have several fanboys posting on other team's sites pretending that they are Michigan or Notre Dame fans or have a Northwestern degree?

Day is not on the hot seat yet. If he loses to UM this year it gets warm. Lose next year and he may have no seat at OSU. They laid an egg against Michigan. However, in the playoffs, OSU actually came close to winning it all.

They lost in the semifinals which isn't "actually close to winning it all". Had they beat Georgia, yeah, they probably beat TCU but they didn't. You can't say what you said losing in the semis.

The point was a negative about Day. It was that Ohio State has higher standards. Just like Bama. Day at 99% of schools would be 100% safe but losing the last 2 years to Michigan and losing to Georgia made the seat warm. 10-2 in the regular season this year will likely have lots of people calling for his job. Not that I think they go 10-2 but stranger things have happened.

Day losing to Michigan? Forget Michigan, ND and Hartman will smoke OSU. QB was the only thing missing at ND over the last 5 years or so. Prediction - ND 42 - OSU 31. You heard it here 1st

Perhaps, but you have to look at the thinking in Columbus. To OSU, the Michigan game is THE game. Losing to UM is considered far worse than losing to ND.

This might not go over big in Ann Arbor and Columbus, but I actually think this is the year that PSU takes both down - just a gut feeling as PSU has the talent to do it, Should be a great season in the B1G east. The problem is that they could beat up on each other and all 3 miss the Playoffs

That matchup with Michigan’s OLine and backfield vs our Defensive tackles is a big worry. Ohio State is a more favorable matchup for us IMO. Our back seven should be real good.

I think the B1G East rests on the OSU defense - whether they totally suck again. They couldn't stop anybody the last 3 to 4 years. Whatever they're paying their DC (can't think of his name) is Waaaay too much

Depends on how you look at it. Yes, it is 2 games. OSU makes the last second field goal against Georgia and they probably win it all. That is how I am looking at it.

He (Knowles) is only in his second year. If the OSU D sucks again, he will be on a very hot seat.

All I know is that OSU has wasted a ton of offensive talent the last few years due to fielding a HS defense. Pretty much the consensus on all of the CF boards

Well, that HS defense beat us last year with a couple of big plays.

Man, I understand striving for excellence but 10-2, 11-1 hot seats is...insanity?
Yeh, but both Alabama and OSU has played 2nd fiddle to Georgia and Michigan - in their conferences - the last couple of years and that just doesn't sit well with their fan bases. I just wonder when the last time either one of those teams lost 3 or more games - seems like a long time. I read a few weeks ago that OSU has only 2 losing seasons since the mid 1960s - just incredible.

Methinks you’ve been tipping the Irish whiskey a bit too much today O’Malley

I think ND Heaven just comes on the board for laughs and stir things up in a good way - especially with Online Personna who bites every time. He used to be on the ND Rivals board a ton a few years ago and did the same over there.

I‘m familiar with Wolves schtick. I don’t know ND Heaven at all.

UGA is the new Bama basically. Saban's run is near unheard of. It isn't going to last forever and it looks like UGA is doing the Bama thing now.

The Buckeyes run is big time as well. It's spanned multiple coaches. I'm starting to think I could win 10 games there every year just by showing up. Lol definitely not but still. Nobody outside of coaching circles knew who Ryan Day was prior to his arrival in Columbus and now he's only lost like 6 games in 5 years or something unreal.

Hey, if these schools desire to eat itself because top 2% isn't one, so be it.
