Kyle Snyder

Total respect from me for Tom Ryan. He did a great job at Hofstra and has done a great job at tOSU. He's pushed the Buckeyes to the second position in the college wrestling hierarchy and that's no small potatoes. Yeah, he says some goofy stuff sometimes, but I can forgive that.

HR folks think Kyle moving to NLWC moves Iowa to the clear number two in the wrestling hierarchy. I think not.

They are absolutely clueless to what this means. Tom ryan is as driven a man as there is. He will take this internal and it push him harder than ever in my opinion. M* cant match that on his best day and we already know TnT are not exactly recruiting juggernauts.

Snyder is an ambassador for the sport on top of being a great dude and heckuva rassler.

The only room with our level of wrestling aptitude is the OTC AND it's not even close.

Iowa still 3rd and by 2022 could be 2nd in their state.

A lot of people seem to be forgetting the incredible recruiting classes they’ve been putting together of late. One twitter rube said Wisconsin is now “a clear 2nd best.”. On the rise, definitely, but tOSU isn’t going away—at least not in the near term. It’s damn f*n to have worthy adversaries, so I hope they keep it rolling, and think, in spite of the endless opportunities for schadenfreude, that Ryan is the man for the job.

Kyle Snyder as a training partner did not make Ohio State into the Recruiting National Champs.

It helped with the upper weights, but it was about his example. Put another way: Pletcher, McKenna, Sasso, etc., are not there to train with Snyder. They are there to achieve Snyder's results with Ryan's help and guidance.

Losing Snyder, Stieber, and McKenna all since March absolutely hurts the ORTC. For now. The leadership didn't change. It's a temporary setback.

But it's hard to look at the HWC resident athlete roster and conclude Brands has any edge over Ryan. That is, unless people need to invent a reason to feel better about themselves.

Maybe a different story if HWC had actually landed Martinez and Downey ... oh well.

I think your perception of this move depends on where your priorities or how your Priorities are aligned. Is it more important to bash Ohio State and beat them down? Is it more important to celebrate another addition to assist the PSU upper weights? Or perhaps you are happy that team USA has possibly or potentially gotten stronger? It’s a great move for everyone involved except Ohio State! In my opinion their failure to evolve has been a down fall that we all should have seen coming and I hope for Team USA sake they can figure it out. We need all our RTCs on a high level to continue to push the USAW team upward. My 2 cents

Well said. IMHO, we as a fan base need to stop running down and bad mouthing other programs. Ir reminds me to much of Iowa fans during their the glory years of Dan Gable. Bad losers I understand but why be Bad winners? Doesn't make sense to me. Enjoy our team and our successes instead of reveling in the teams that are not as successful as ours. JMHO.

Don't forget about John Smith. His last two classes are very strong.

The arrogance and ignorance of some on this board is hillary hilarious!
Kyle needs to beat Jden for the 2020 spot he knows this already. His best training partners in OTC are not going to get him there, DT along with Varner and Cassar pushing him are his best shot. And even If Jden goes 86kg its an advantage for him and his friend DT.
Of coarse having Cunningham first and foremost along with Cael coaching helps.
Oh and lets not forget his wife is going to Med school at UPenn and he is from Maryland.
Oh and dont forget $$$

Well Grip, the best thing about this whole development for Nittany Nation is... were not Iowa fans. Now if we were Iowa fans... that would suck.

I think Snyder just wants the home mat advantage for the Olympic trials. Pretty slick move.

I do feel for Tom Ryan and I don't have any particular problem with his tweet, since it looked to me like he was correcting misinformation he'd been hearing (Snyder leaving the college program) from people who don't watch wrestling closely enough to realize Snyder was a year out from having graduated. But there was a better way to say it, because the statement had a defensive feel that he'd have been better off swallowing for now. Just wish him the best, thank him for all he's done, and look forward.

Get a grip, Grip.

Typical, Why would you respond with knowledge and insight perhaps its to difficult for you I understand.
I don't have any knowledge about the move other than what's been reported. Any reasonable insight has already been posted. Anything else is just speculation and having fun. I'm having fun at your expense since your stuck being an Iowa fan.

Speaking of lack of knowledge Grip, in the end, Kyle's other half told him to go where he felt was best for him, and she would follow. She would apply for med school nearby, or put it off if needed. He said this himself in a Flo interview yesterday. She's not in med school yet.

Kyle said himself this has been coming without alot of public knowledge. I'd be 2illing to be his wife got a letter they aren't speaking of.
Either way. This is a great move for his future, Iowa fans are butt hurt, and they blame it on slush fund $$

Don't know if you saw his interview or not, but Kyle says that she is awaiting a response from Upenn regarding acceptance, for what it's worth.

Personally I never put emphasis on any slush fund. I actually stated the best training partners first and obviously there would be money involved.

I'm in the Bahamas at the moment listening to DMB, whacked up (not driving roar), and reading hot takes while the wife readies for dinner on a floating thing.... that all said

I ate dinner last night with guys who were the boomer sooner mascot and the other a brutus mascot and the brutus guy was like wtf about kyle when I told him. Said he was one of the nicest guys he ever met in sports or in life.

This is BiGLY for the NLWC....for so many reasons.

While flo may not have a plan...Cael et al do

Ps - I moved near to good counsel school this summer and the "folks" there talk of him very very fondly

PSs - rum runners are poison.

Psss- kilc beer is less than p!ss

Pssss - #firsttripwithoutkidsin10years

PsV - @WildTurk you know the drill

After seeing the wrestling and football posts over the last week, it's rather pathetic. Snyder chose to move elsewhere, his life, his choice. He represents our country, America. How others can't simply support a really great ambassador for the sport is fking beyond me. I literally hat fans.

Let me add. When we lose wrestlers, coaches that go elsewhere, this board generally supports those folks to find the greatness they're looking for. Be it Pitt, MD, or Iowa. I don't remember anyone here wishing I'll will towards Spencer at all. That's a statement I'm proud to make regarding this board. When idiots here have gone off the rails, and there's been literally one, this board calls their asses out and for good reason. This is a great board. We may joke, but rarely ever attack and that's the way it should be.

I dont believe I ever made any sandusky comments
No, you just say stupid sh$t like this amongst other things. But hey, you won't be banned unlike your buds that constantly say everyone here gets banned. Enjoy...

I like Nato I would root for him, but for some reason the picture of Nickal getting his face smashed up makes me chuckle. It will happen I will laugh good stuff.

Grip it's nice to read you here. I blocked you on tHR, too many Sandusky references in the past.

You turn over a new leaf or nah?
I may have. Read my comments I may throw in A Carl now and then and I have thrown in a few trigger comments on HR in fun just because its annoying hearing from PSU fans over there when its all about “its what we do” I am a die hard wrestling fan and I do have the utmost respect for the PSU program heck I almost went to PSU to play ball.
Nolf is on my top ten favorite wrestlers all time along with only a few other non Hawkeyes.
Its hard to get through all the BS on these boards and it does get frustrating.
This topic is crossing lines its the US team and I will back anyone on the team even if its BO and thats hard to say for me. And before one of you states the obvious, yes I would like him if he was a Hawk but not as much as others.

You literally hat fans?!

I only bust on you because you used literally. I got a mental image of you jamming hats on fans!
