it’s a dumb rule but it is the rule. flo has a video from a head official at cklv explaining it.

they totally botched this rule change imo. the whole point of the “rear standing” no reaction time is to eliminate judgment calls on bang bang go behinds. and yet that’s the main position that is excluded! and instead they eliminate the standing granby defense, one of the most dynamic moves in the sport. the incompetence is honestly shocking to me. coaches signed off on this?

I agree with your post.

I seriously doubt the coaches anticipated this is how refs would call a standing granby, where clearly the wrestler is not posting a hand to maintain balance.

I anticipate a future clarification to rectify the situation.
