No one could have known, or predicted, with any confidence at all, the happenings around this saga. People "in the know" were repeating, some accurately, the "latest info", but things changed...and the "latest info" was no longer true. Folks involved were leaning towards a certain position, then when inquiries were made and answered leaned another way. Best thing to do is wait for the fat lady to sing...and she hasn't sung yet.
Today is a great day to be alive!

Right from the beginning it appeared the Rutgers side was skirting the rules. Maybe it was a middle man working on Rutgers' behalf, but it's hard to believe the staff wasn't involved at some level.
Whoever it was just didn't understand the rules. That they then went out and did a public smear job on Cael makes all involved on that end look like idiots.

This^^,,, anything can still happen at this point.. I still think for Nick's long term legacy and goals as a college wrestler, PSU is the best spot for him.. best competition, best coaches, best post graduate support system.. I understand every personality is different and the care free nature of the PSU program may not be exactly what he wants but if he has to lose a year at Rutgers vs go outside the single best conference in wrestling to an inferior program OR come back to PSU.. I can't see how they choose the other option.. but we shall see.. and with kids reporting to campus this week.. we should see fairly soon..
The next question in the saga is:
Did you try some of the local delicacies, such as Súrir hrútspungar?
prediction......cael/psu will not go public + surianos will not go public, ie no official statement
Nick will show up on campus and in the directory. this will be what the media reports
then in Oct at media day, cael will brush it off as will nick/family.

Classes start Monday.. Move in starts as early as today if they want to pay 20$ a night (dorms). I would assume if he shows up on campus and is in class Monday, the answer is final.. can't imagine he would leave after that.. so hopefully the next week is the longest it can go.

I think Nick should stay put. Rutgers room is not going to get him closer to reaching his goals then in PA. He just needs to suck it up and move forward where he committed. This benefits me in no way as an Iowa fan.
One of the things thrown around during all this was that his father wanted Nick to be a bigger fish in the pond he was in.. I am not saying this to be true, but it was thrown around.. well if that was the goal he certainly has achieved it.. Within the wrestling community.. he is everywhere...
I have followed along and it has been quite the ride. I just have two thoughts on it. It seems almost impossible to me that Rutgers did not in some way have a middle man or out right talk with him when it was not permitted. Second I'm amazed at how they did not or chose not to understand the Transfer rule within the conference.
i think the sneaky squirrel(s) put out A LOT of misinformation to create a smoke screen. for those who are on the fence about Sandy (as psu fans) you should understand she has great affection for Cael and loves the wrestling program. For the RU fans and haters out there that want to put this on Cael, you shouldnt. whether PSU gave cover for cael (completely possible) or the RUMOR is true cael was ok writing the letter but PSU (sandy) took a stand. listen to FRL if you need reassurance on this point.

Good to hear about Barbour.... I have been impressed with her so far(a few learning curve mistakes that she owned up to) and don't get the antipathy for her.
