latest Suriano news

Did you see him walking around NCAA last year or within the weeks following he's facial expression never changed there's no doubt not wrestling last year was tough on him mentally

It was pretty tough on me, too, to be fair. But, I could drink my frustration away.
Correct you train to be a NCAA champion and in his mind he was gonna win 4 then all the sudden the injury that will take a huge toll on the mind and I don't think PSU handled it properly as far as using all the resources he should've been seeing a sports psychologist 3 times a week the minute he was injured

I thought we'd all be well hydrated having Jammen's ever-flowing tears to drink from

EDIT: We need a jammen x CropDuster commentated dual and/or podcast.

Here we go with the useless speculation again. How do yoi know he needed to, or he didn't see the specialist, or PSU told him to and he declined, or he went and here we are anyway?

Umm, look at his Instagram acct linked above and exactly when has his facial expression ever changed? And what does that have to do with anything, anyway?

If I understand this thread history correctly... All summer, Nick is most likely gone from PSU, last week it looked like he was coming back and either he or his parents were in town to meet with someone in the AD and now he is gone again. Does anyone actually KNOW anything or is it all guessing? Trying to figure out who has actual info vs theories is killin me!:confused:

That's absurd. Is it some new policy that every time an athlete gets hurt they need psychological counselling? That's news to me.

If he wants to get closer to NJ, wrestle in a half way respectable program, and not lose a year of eligibility. You would think Lehigh is his only option.

Lehigh is more the half way respectable. They could roll out Cruz, Suriano and Parker at the first three weights. Penn State could be shut out through those weights in a dual but that would be true of a lot of teams.

The biggest issue is where Suriano would fit this season. Obviously, pretty much where he wants. but I have to think Lehigh has Karam pencilled in at 133. So that pretty much freezes Karam or Parker out of the lineup.

They have a hole at 149, I think, and 157 is not spectacular. But Kutner at 165 and Preisch at 174 is pretty good. 184 and 197 are not great, either, but Wood will be a well-above-average 285.

Don't see them beating PSU with this lineup, but they would be favored at 3 weights and very competitive at three others.

If you've competed with a team your entire life , you come to understand that the team is #1 And that disappointments happen but you root for your team. My son had to learn these same lessons in life as he has spent time on the sidelines injured at PSU throughout his career and yes, in some instances him missing time caused the team to not do as well. I would never say it's not hard, heck, as a parent it's hard because I had to watch it, but that is fact of life. The job then becomes rehabbing and getting back stronger than ever. This is D1 athletics, it's not easy.

Speculating about whether a wrestler is mentally tough based on performance is one thing, but prescribing explicit mental health treatment based on a series of hardly-given assumptions is irresponsible, IMO.

HIJACK time.. what's everyone sipping on today/tonight?
Bought a bottle of Don Julio 70 yesterday (their anniversary tequila) and went to the La Michoancana to grab a bottle of Sangrita and fresh limes. Will be drinking Banderas tonight. Never was a big fan, until recently of tequila. Love it neat

Well since all I do is speculate why don't you tell me what's going on you've over 9,000 posts so you gotta have some inside info on the program cause obviously you think I'm clueless

It's hard to believe this whole ordeal is still ongoing. The most logical conclusion is that he wants to go but is trying desperately to avoid losing the year. I know, not earth-shattering deduction skills. At this point, I just want it to be over; it's really screwing with my sport attention schedule. I want to only be thinking about football and it's fantasy derivatives for the next few weeks...as well as my Wednesday departure for Prague.

BRING ON THE FOREIGN BEER!

Wasn't the reason this started was because of the way the injury was handled supposedly? Just curious why all this started

Do you realize that damn near all D1 wrestling programs have sports psychologists available to them free of charge it's a resource just like tutors
