Leaving Pitt in tears!

Good luck in finding any sympathy for a member of their fan base on this board. They are a collection of gigantic assh*les who deserve every bit of misfortune that comes their way. F*ck them.
the online ones generally are but this is just some poor kid student

Looks ridiculous from the outside.
But you never know what a person is going thru.

My first thought was he must have lost a big bet.

There were at least two other clips at the end of that game that were interesting. One was right after the scoop and score interception at the end where it looked like a Pitt fan was so pi$$ed he was about ready to throw with a Michigan State fan. He was ROYALLY pi$$ed. Would have loved to have seen how that turned out.

The other was the handshake at the end where a Pitt player mouthed off to a Michigan State player and they had to be separated. This was about two or three minutes after the game ended.

they are good at it because they have had decades of practice......Lair now trashing MSU and the Big Ten boasting that the ACC is much tougher conference. LOL.......Pitt is at most an 8 win team in the Big Ten.
8? More like 2 or 3.

That's a bit harsh. They would have won the out of conference games, no matter league affiliation. Pitt had a good team this year. I don't think it's a stretch to say they would have been somewhere between the 4th and 6th best team in the Big Ten.
Maybe this year, but constantly? 2 or 3 a year at most.

I slept well last night, real well.

Missed the first quarter. What I saw in quarters 2 and 4 was Sparty receivers making plays, making Thorne look good. In between, they dropped a couple easy passes or Thorne threw a poor ball.

Each team had a turnover return for a TD. Without their top running back, MSU was 10 points better than Pickett-less Pitt.

pitt played better than I thought they would. This was their biggest bowl game since 1976. They probably won't have another like it for the next 3 decades. pitt was jacked to play and MSU was disappointed to be there. MSU gave a half-hearted effort.

That said, the ACC champion lost by double digits to the third best team in the Big 10 East. This game illustrates that pitt's record is totally a result of cupcake scheduling. If pitt played in the Big 10 East they would be fighting with Rutgers and Maryland to stay out of last place.

Narduzzi continues to recruit MAC level 2* and 3* talent. Their future schedules are filled with cupcakes. pitt should be glad they got to play in a decent bowl last night. Their next one will likely be in about 2050.

I saw that guy as well - I would never cry over a football game, maybe as a player but a fan? No way - been pissed More than I can remember by a PSU loss but it seems the sun still came up the next day.

The TV coverage was pretty brutal. When Pitt had the 11 point lead they kept showing depressed and upset Sparty fans. Soon as Pitt ‘pitted’ they switched to showing crying and upset Pitt fans. Showed the crybaby guy a couple times.

Thought it was over the top. No need to do that to unsuspecting fans.

Also saw the confrontation between two players after the game. It was in a wide shot of teams on field and they switched shots quickly so didn’t see a lot of what happened.

Agreed. Certainly behind Michigan and Ohio State. They're obviously competitive against Michigan State given the opt outs (Pickett for Pitt is probably as significant -- if not more so -- as Walker for MSU). They'd be competitive against Wisconsin, Iowa, Purdue, Minnesota, and PSU.

Somewhere between 3 and 7 is probably accurate.

The crying pitt fan illustrates the importance of this game to them. MSU viewed the game the same way we are viewing the Arkansas game. We expect better and are disappointed to be there. pitt was ecstatic to be there. It was their biggest bowl since the Marino days. Most of their fans probably won't see a bigger bowl in their lifetimes and they know it. The two teams played accordingly. pitt played as hard as they could. MSU gave a lackluster performance. When MSU realized that they might lose, they stepped it up and won the game by double digits. If MSU played the whole game with pitt's intensity, they would have won by over 30 points.

I think playing these teams in consecutive weeks vs Pitt’s 2021 schedule is the biggest difference. Their schedule overall was just weak. Credit to Pitt for preparing well to play MSU. That is arguably easier than preparing to play MSU after consecutive weeks of the BIG East.

Pitt would be brutally beaten in the B10.

The level of competition definitely contributes to the loss of players to injury during the season also. When you are playing very physical teams week in and week out, your odds of losing increase and keeping your players healthy.

I do give Pitt credit for being competitive deep into the 4th quarter while playing, for the majority of the game, their 3rd string QB against a quality opponent. Be it talent level, preparation or, most likely, a combination of the 2, I doubt PSU could do the same with their 2nd or 3rd string QBs, given what we saw transpire back in Oct/Nov.

No crying in baseball but I guess that doesn’t apply to football - almost as good as that dopey older Bucknut fan who face paints and is seen crying after an OSU loss - spare me.

I thought Pitt played well and were far more physical than I expected. I don’t like Narduzzi and the majority of the Pitt fans nauseate me but they had a memorable season. Biggest midget in the room - lol.

They will be decent next year and would end up being like an Iowa lite in the Big 10. They would likely be physically very run down in a conf like the SEC or the Big 10 compared to this years ACC. But credit where credit is due. Where else can a team achieve champ yet lose to team that is 4th in the MAC West?
