Bonus Points (official podcast of USA Wrestling) has an interview with Spencer Lee that they posted on 8/19. You can access it at THIS LINK. Scroll to the 7-minute mark of the podcast, as that's where the interview with Spencer starts. The interview covers Spencer's Junior Worlds experience. It covers other aspects of Spencer's wrestling life, including his thoughts about college. Feel free to parse his words any way that you'd like, but IMHO he was consistent with how he's been in all other interviews where the subject comes up -- he doesn't give any hints as to which way he may be leaning.
It's a long interview, but well worth the listen.

And all of them were better than Minnesota's broadcast on BTN Plus which had no announcers at all. At the beginning of each match the camera would slowly pan to the scoreboard so you could see who the wrestlers were and then slowly pan back and this was repeated at the end of each period. It was bizarre to say the least. I guess Minnesota couldn't even come up with anyone willing to do the broadcast. At least the Fist to the Back Crew were highly entertaining. LOL.
Curious---- A lot of the Excitement about Lee on HR is based around the "Fact" that his girlfriend is going to school at IOWA and the Family has a Hunting property in the state??? Is this True??????????, Because if it is I can see the optimism from their perspective.

I know the girlfriend thing is what they talk about most but I thought I saw a reference to the family having property there a time back. I could be remembering it wrong.
haha, yes that one got me as well. I think the majority of Hawk fans are uncomfortable with where that thread has gone and are trying to distance themselves from the over-the-top comments. Meanwhile, 9xs has gone full tilt. Check out the Logan Ryan thread, yikes!!

Have to agree. Usually, Mack and Gordy do a good job. Don't know what happened that time.

He could reasonably insert OK State ahead of PSU. For the B1G squads - tOSU will STILL be formidable if they get their lineup right, Iowa could conceivably have everything break right for them, or he could just be a good fan and predict the Gophers to win it - much as many PSU fans refused to concede the B1G and National titles last year even with the writing on the wall.
It is reasonable...not that I agree with it. But, definitely OK State has guys that have already finished there at NCAAs - we're counting on a lot of new faces.

Such a relief, because on my phone that looks like John Holmes. Which would be very awkward.
That's a pretty reasonable prediction. I think PSU is more likely to finish top 2 than tOSU, but it will be close.
Since I'm pessimistic on Hunter Stieber returning to near full ability, I'm a little more bearish on tOSU. Okie State will be tough - they have the near guarantee of huge points from Ringer and they've peaked well in the past several years.
Although I tend to be skeptical of room reports, I'm still very excited about the reports on Shakur Rasheed. He's been very much under-the-radar, and overshadowed by the 3 Ns, but he was pretty highly ranked in his own right and is dangerous. Can't wait to see the new guys.
I've been watching last year's NCAA sessions a lot during these dog days of summer, and it sucks when your guys are mainly to be found in the scrolled results and not on the televised mats. First, I need to do that all access thing so I've got more mats going, but second our guys will be featured more this year given our firepower coming back and exciting guys like Nolf and Nickal.

I'll give you the ANSWER MENTALLY JAMMED UP... YES!!! You of all people should know what a colossal choke job that was for Minnesota. It's was laid out there for Minnesota and their best two wrestlers lost and just couldn't get it done... on the biggest of STAGES. YOU KNOW WHAT A MEAN? Obviously... who have a "little" hurt left over from that.... and taking 2nd to Penn State in 2012 and 2nd to Oklahoma State in 2006 and in 2003, taking 2nd to Iowa in 1999 and 1998. Always the brides maid... never the bride. Never getting to wear a "CHOKER" around your neck... well as a brides maid... you do get to wear that "CHOKER" around your neck. Lol
