As long as we don't prematurely order 2016 NCAA Wrestling Champions t-shirts, we'll be ahead of the game. Now we know why this site doesn't archive, there'd be too many PSU fans with egg on their faces.
Link or it didn't happen. As long as we don't prematurely order 2016 NCAA Wrestling Champions t-shirts, we'll be ahead of the game.
I'd be borderline stunned to see Ohio State ahead of Penn State this year.Top five tourney teams:
1) Okie St
2) Ohio St
3) PSU
4) Iowa
5) Michigan
Word is they are big in South America!!As long as we don't prematurely order 2016 NCAA Wrestling Champions t-shirts, we'll be ahead of the game.
The native tribes in the Amazon basin, including the Yanimamo, value Gopher shirts quite highly as they remind these fierce warriors of their favorite prey, the Capybara - only smaller.Word is they are big in South America!!
Yup - still dangerous, but take a step back. Their lineup composition will be very interesting the year after with Snyder slotting back in, the role of Haines, the development of Hayes and Martin.I'd be borderline stunned to see Ohio State ahead of Penn State this year.

I'd guess that MN has more than 5 holes, come AA time.PSU has holes at 133,141,165, 174, & 184 when it's AA time.
You were stunned when a B1G senior AA finished ahead of your flashy freshmen, too. Ain't nothing new.
Martinez beat Ness. You were stunned when a B1G senior AA finished ahead of your flashy freshmen, too. Ain't nothing new.

No clue what you're talking about. You were stunned when a B1G senior AA finished ahead of your flashy freshmen, too. Ain't nothing new.
They aren't improving at hwt imo. I don't think Haines has hardly seen the mat yet. I'm betting we see Tav again.Hayes and Micah will do well and they upgrade at Hwt. Clearly not the same team minus Logie and Snyder, but they Could finish 3rd if all things go well.
No clue what you're talking about.
Lol.If I had ranked Gulibon, Grey, and Beckman ahead of returning B1G senior AA Thorn I would also try to forget it. Of course, I wouldn't have spent two threads and eight pages trying to defend it either on a site that archives.
Thorn 5th
Beckman 6th
Grey rd of 12
Gulibon 1-2

Talk about a Sicilian vendetta! Damn, Jammenz has a long memory! He's probably cutting and pasting this thread into a Word doc.Well, let's see:
Thorn was a returning AA -- 7th at 125. If you think he should've been ranked as a 133 AA, then you'll have no problem with Conaway as a 133 AA this year ... right?
Gulibon and Thorn split matches that year. So that ranking wasn't exactly a WAG.
And why is being a SR relevant? Under that criterion, the defending 2x national champ SR heavy must have been a massive disappointment, losing to a mere SO. Also under that criterion, how did the Goofers not win the national title last year? Or at least print some t-shirts?

I wonder how harshly he judges his Guillotine Boys for predicting stardom for Short, Wanzek and Kroells - not to mention the Dardanes, Ness and Shiller. I, myself, had egg on my face as they were my favorite last year.

What a silly post, unless the proper context is provided.
From the WIN Magazine preseason rankings (available at THIS LINK):
"WIN’s individual preseason rankings do not include true freshmen or redshirt freshmen. They will be inserted into the rankings into (sic) November after actual college matches have been wrestled."
So for PSU, the rankings do not include:
1) Jason Nolf
2) Shakur Rasheed (though they do include Hammond as #19 at 165)
3) Bo Nickal
4) Nick Nevills
That's 30 (or 40, if Rasheed is included) percent of the lineup, and not just fill-ins, but guys for which it is reasonable to expect them to score points at Nationals.
With all due respect to WIN Magazine, doing rankings when you don't consider 30-40% of the projected starters is useless. Either wait to rank teams until you can assess freshman or stick your neck out a little bit and figure out how you think they will do. Otherwise your poll just makes you look stupid.
All that said, I'd still take a flyer on the kid. Looks like he's got some potentialWhy all this hype about spencer. Nico beats him. Others beat Nico. Spencer is a good high school wrestler. His parents got him there. If he doesn't come to Penn Sate .... The coaches will train someone to beat him... If he doesn't come to Penn State... All his parents work went for nothing. He will come. That's where his dad told him to go. It's the only place for him. He can't beat Nico... Or Conaway. He can put it on the line and get better here...or he ca go elsewhere and wish he was here. We don't need him... He needs us !

you may be right, but he is special and a young man like that does not come along very often.

Which makes the WIN poll somehow even more useless. May as well put a blindfolded monkey in front of a dartboard.Don't shoot the messnger. You might also note that all the top teams are missing their freshmen starters.
