Since one of my sons started to wrestle a few years ago, the Mrs changed from ambivalent to full on wrestling mom beast mode.

Nothing brings out the bear in a Mama like seeing her cubs on the wrestling mat.

I can’t get her really into wrestling.

Hard to imagine why she doesn't want to see you during Hula Hoop Halftime.

I had been helping out with a fledgling program as an assistant in the early 70's. A few weeks after I got married, I got a call that the guy running the fledgling program was moving to CT, could I take over? I reluctantly agreed. (Living in NJ, coaching in SE PA. Nuts) My wife is from NC, had never seen a wrestling match. I asked her if she wanted to go to Districts? Big mistake. Weigh-ins were at 7AM, an hour and a half from my house. Wrestling started at 8. My wife sat there from 7am till 7pm when my last kids finished up, watching a sport she didn't understand.
Never again. Gotta give her credit. Did this for a couple of decades, driving ridiculous distances every day until I moved to the town I was coaching in eight years later. She never complained.
But she never went to Districts again.
