LSU vs USC game thread

Very impressive win for USC--good for the Big Ten when it comes down to spots for the Big Ten and SEC
Wouldn't be shocked to see either of these teams in the playoff. Great game--little sloppy but for week 1 it's impressive
Certainly a very entertaining game. PSU will have some heavy lifting to beat USC in SoCal.

Exactly. Allar has to begin to look elsewhere to make the WRs more effective. Allar still needs work in that area.
He also has to be in sync with them. Most of these passes are being released before the receiver makes his cut.

I'm worried about our wrs. Need someone to step up. Would like to see every wr on our roster get a chance vs. Bowling Green to show what they can do.

Moss completed 75% of his passes to 10 different receivers.

Nussmeier completed 76% of his passes to 10 different receivers.

Holy cow. USC has some playmakers on offense. And their D is improved from last year.

The lack of discipline which produced three earlier 15-yard penalties finally killed LSU at the end. Instead of the USC kicker, who'd already missed a chip shot, having to kick a 40-plus yard FG for the win, LSU commits the stupid targeting penalty and then allows a rushing TD from 13 yards out when the Trojans were only trying to set up for the FG. Good grief.

Great win for USC. Bad loss for favored LSU.

Our offense isn't at that level right now. We all know that. We also aren't throwing nearly as much as them. Miller and Nussmeier were great tonight. Allar was great yesterday. All 3 have to continue to improve if they want to contend.

Yeah, I initially had PSU in a 7 to 10 point win but now think it will be a tough one. That will be one I won't miss. That USC defense - with their new DC - looked like it actually has a clue this year as that LSU offense - and their OL - is top notch

Their D has a long way to go. USC was always going to be a challenge for us. Hopefully we're ready

Yep. agree 100%. That team always has speed and talent and now they look like they actually know what they're doing - somewhat - on defense. And keep in mind that many consider LSU to have the best OL in the country with their 2 OT going in the top 15 to 20 overall in the next draft. Other teams better buckle it up when they play USC this year.

Not saying their defense is the 1970s Steelers but they're a whole lot better than the last few years and that LSU offense - along with their top rated OL - is one of the very best around

Love Kelly’s presser afterwards. If there was one guy on that sideline who looked to have checked out when they kicked the fg to go ahead, it was him.

Once the good people of Louisiana run him out of town, which you know will be coming, he can always get into politics.

The way he pulled the rug out from under Notre Dame was shameless even by the low standards of our day.

The man is Exhibit A of why it rings so hollow to dump on kids for putting their own interests first in the new order of college sports.

Not many had top level opponents.
True but that's true for most teams. The only real tests were Georgia-Clemson (kind of) LSU-USC ND-A&M and...I'm probably forgetting one. Florida-Miami was good on paper but Florida is grabage. Still a good start as our bottom feeders didn't flop.

Especially when they went out of their way to allow him to murder a kid and get away with it. Ungrateful prick.
