Lubert Rallies The 'Old Guard' For The Coming 'Storm'

Kudos to Tribek

Well prepared and clearly outlined the "Scoundrelness" of the proposal (for folks who have been "playing along".......Tribek should be prepared to be even more "clear" when this comes up in the future - - - so that even the casual observer and the (gasp) media can process just what is being attempted here).
And, the next time this comes up (and wouldn't it be just like the Scoundrels to do it - next time - in secret Privileged Session) the entire A9 delegation needs to be ready to raise hell.
I am astounded the OGBOT didn't just ram it on through, objections be damned.

I doubt they've gone soft in their old age, so it just means they have tricks up their sleeve.

Why would you move to remove the BOT from the Corporation for Penn State? The only possible answer is, there are things going on that certain factions strongly prefer never to see the light of day.

The very fact they would even try to pull a move like this is PROOF that something is rotten in the state of Denmark.

Old article but....

Ira Lubert and pension funds.

Someone explain the significance to us in the here and now today.

Huge scandal about 10 years ago where the Gate Keepers for public pension funds were being paid kick-backs for hiring certain managers. Forget who all got investigated, but there were quite a few out at CALPERS, Richardson in New Mexico got busted, forget his name but the gate-keeper in New York City.... The Pension Money was almost always being invested in extremely high-feeing hedge funds or "private co-mingled investment companies" like Lubert-Adler, etc...

There was another one a little more recent involving CalPERS and Apollo Capital Management in NY. The CEO of CalPERS and his friend, who was on the board, were involved. One agreed to plead guilty and testify against the other. I stopped following it after that. The CalPERS CEO literally collected 10s of millions in fees. Not sure exactly how much, but it approached 50 million or so.

Just looked it up and one of the defendants, not the ex-CEO of CalPERS, ended up committing suicide:

Maybe it's the same one to which you refer. He started collecting the fees in 2005, according to the article.

I'm no conspiracy theorist, but the shiny object of the Glazer Ruling "allegations" was full-pressed by the media that very same day ( the ruling came out the day before) and they totally whiffed on this. Coincidence? Or not. You make the call.

Oldsey is there.
That was one of the token "we're putting Alum trustees on committees and such now" gestures, and now the backtrack when they realized Oh!-they might ask to actually inspect things counter-move. If you don't watch all the meetings you miss the chess moves...

I went back right after the meeting and could not find the 2016 list Wendy has put here, but I found another one. Prior to this, the list of names tells a story. Here's one everyone talked about back in March of 2014

Thanks for that. What about the final two sentences?

The second principal purpose of The Corporation for Penn
State is that it can, under certain circumstances,
accept gifts on behalf of the University that cannot be made
directly to the University. This continues to be an
important vehicle for the accomplishment of University objectives.

Please tell us more dear Corporation.

This is how disengaged the crew STILL IS.

Watch the faces - watch who's playing on their laptops & tablets. Did anyone clear their throat and say "wait a minute - I'm not clear on this"?

Like with a classic neighborhood theft scam where you're distracted at your front door - who's watching what's going out your back door?

Would someone please explain-the reason for this strange behavior?

I'm not a lawyer but for the taxpayers and concerned citizens of PA, this should be the time that the state politicos step in and legislatively prevent any avenue to hide financial malfeasance of public funds.

You're assuming career politicos on either side of the aisle really give a good gosh darn about the electorate....not a good assumption imho.

Gold, said the man to the many
I want money and I'll make it grow
I will count my worth in gold
Wealth untold, I'll sell my soul
Midas Man
Midas Man

The battle will soon begin.
Lubert aka Midas Man is strengthening the trustees cabal's fortress.
He stands to lose more than any other trustee, when the levee breaks.
And it will break.

You see, in my business, it's nothing personal. It's just business as usual.

I've got the brawn, you've got the brains
Let's make lots of money

Our thing is to gain access to pension funds.
It's a brilliant strategy.
My boss Rosario Buffalino was the greatest man that i have ever met.

He would loan out the money, on a scale from 2% to 5%, depending on the scope of work.
Everyone benefited. And no one ever caught on.

I hear midas man has pension funds from all over pennsylvania. Loves his state and school employees' funds. Ever wonder what he has going on in happy valley?

The most powerful man at your penn state according to our sources.
But i respect him for his acumen and he is a casino guy.
We could have been paisans or maybe not.

Father forgive me, I tried not to do it
Turned over a new leaf and then tore right through it

Did i ever tell you why Jimmy Hoffa got whacked?

You see, jimmy had given us complete and unfettered access to the teamsters' pension funds.

When jimmy was sent to the slammer, Frank Fitzsimmons took over. It was business as usual.
In fact, if i remember correctly we made many loans for your university construction projects.

It was heaven. But alas, when jimmy was almost done serving his time, he said that he had become a changed man.He wanted to cut off our access to the pension funds.

That was unacceptable and my boss flew into a rage.
The rest is history. I did what i had to do. And Sally Bugs had to be sent to australia, too. I cried, but it had to be done.

You do know that your former BNY trustee was trying to follow our business model?
She tried to use her feminine charms to get the "construction king" president at SUNY's Upstate Medical School to become the penn state president. She almost got 'r done. But, she was a rookie and couldn't cement the deal. My boss would've made it happen, back in the day.

Speaking of presidents here's a prediction.
Your current president will serve for only one term.
Our sources say that the athletic director is a short timer, too.

Let me tell you a little story.
I told you before that the midas man came very close to being booted off of your board of directors.
He was so angry at the board that he vowed to never donate money to penn state.
Can you guess what happened next?

Spanier and Schultz hightailed it to florida to beg for a reconciliation.

Are you getting the picture?

I'll take anything I can get, I'll make you
I'll break you and I'll make you sweat
Nothing is worth nothing unless it's
Made for Midas Man

Quid Pro Quo
Forever more

Midas Man is the ultimate powerbroker in your athletic department.
And while he didn't "hate" joepa, he resented joe's power and wanted him gone, along with
others. But, most of you know that.
Some day i will tell you more, but let's focus on the matter at hand.

Your tustee Lubrano has done a fantastic job in fighting and exposing the cabal.
So much so, that he might want to tread lightly, so to speak.
I applaud his diligent work and he will eventually triumph.

But, i disagree with his assessment that Bradley could have replaced joe.
That was never going to happen. And it was tom's fault, not joe's.
But, that is a story for another day.

Speaking of football, what if i told you that the midas man has a very, very influential amigo in the
Beaver Stadium evaluation process. They were "always together". Anyone that thinks Barbour is a person of influence, is shall we say, insanely delusional.

I need to wrap this up because i have a bocce game later this morning.

One of our informants was outraged about your last board meeting when potato trustee introduced a proposal to prohibit board members from seeing any penn state financial info.
You do know midas man is a VP in potato trustee's company?

But that tells me all i need to know.
They are hiding something spectacular.
I would be checking the psu plane's logs for some "key" caribbean financial destinations.

I smell a rat. Fiscal malfeasance.
Cowardly amateurs except for midas man. Gotta admit, he could have been a Don.

Sold said the man to the many,
Work for me, I'll only steal your time
I will count my money out
There's no doubt, I'll sell my soul
Midas Man
Midas Man

Ciao

Frank, you misconstrue my point of view. My thoughts on Tom are clear.

He was the man who had a plan during a difficult time of year.

But the Midas Man, he too had a plan that did not include our Tom. His buddy Fester thought no time to play jester and warned his boss-- hire Tom.

But the Midas Man, he too had a plan and the rest we know is clear. He hired his man and made clear to all-- Tom was damaged goods.

Interesting re: Bradley, Anthony.
