Marcus Blaze thread

If not too much trouble, can someone please give a list of the "scalps" that Blaze has accumulated. If the morning goes well, I'll have to explain this to a couple Uncles who just follow Penn State matches and haven't heard of him. Thanks.

I can’t believe, or should I say I can believe Flo ruined this for Marcus. I love the 7:30am announcement, alittle different but good

Some Marcus Blaze facts taken from an Ohio State board:

" 1) He has bonus points in every D1 state match he has wrestled.
2) He has never lost to an Ohio opponent
3) He has never given up an offensive point, in his entire IN SEASON high school career. Not even in his two losses. He lost on escapes and a penalty point.
4) Fargo Champ over a field that included other world champs Bassett and Raney, current #1 national ranked Knox, and #1 Jax Forrest.
5) Cadet World Champion
6) Olympic team member (top 3 at trials)
7) Junior World Team - Bronze
8 Senior WTT Finalist
9) Beat 3 former D1 NCAA Champs and 2 other NCAA finalists
10) in the same calendar year, beat #1 ranked Lilledahl, #1 ranked Knox, and #1 ranked Forrest."

I get that Blaze is an amazing wrestler and I am glad we got him. His future is unlimited. But I want to be objective regarding Blaze "bonus points", this was from Ohio State board of Blaze's close match:

Blaze / Contos 5-1
Blaze / Campbell 7-1
Blaze / Taylor 6-4
Blaze / nasdeo 4-0
Blaze / deluca 3-2

None of these guys will be NCAA champions anytime soon. I am optimistic (cautiously) of Blaze ability to produce bonus points now that he will be Penn State room, but if he's not, I am ok. Don't want my expectations to be crushed because of your point #1 if he doesn't produce. I am still feeling it (disappointment) of the high expectations from Beau Barlette's defenders who said he will "let it fly this year" and blah blah blah... and then he doesn't. Who knows, this is his last year, maybe he will let it fly this year... right?

Now, for the second act, DT and Cael split up Jax and Bo, and once again we can fill up our coffee cups with Delicious Hawkeye tears and share the tasty treat with our new brothers in Stillwater.

Blaze is going to blow out very few good guys. But he's going to win a lot. He's not necessarily a Beau - who needs perfect circumstances to before he attacks. Blaze is going to be more of a, get the first score, get the last score at the end of periods kind of guy. He's not completely inactive, but yeah - he ain't the next nolf/zain/nickal.

I will say this though - HE'S CAPABLE. He has a sprint that is just a summabitch.

I think, unlike BB, the PSU staff will be able to coach him up.

I like (🤩) and hope you're right. I used Bartlett because of the expectations that was heavily bestowed upon him by his defenders. When presented with evidence, his defenders doubled and tripled down the expectations... even through 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year. You don't hear it anymore now though. But that was probably unfair to him. Not saying Blaze is the second coming of Beau Bartlett, but at least wait until after seeing him wrestle at least one year and then be objective about it. But regardless, I am excited that he's a Lion.
