Marcus Blaze thread

I believe we will see a couple of years of very small and very focused recruiting classes.
That's what this class was supposed to be after the monster haul in the current class with just targeted guys like Duke and Blaze, but then other guys like Henckel recruited themselves here on their own despite a gargantuan task to just earn a spot and other guys like Asher, who was likely always coming as Casey's son, wrestled their way from mid-tier room guy to legitimate hammer.

It's astonishing to think we're following up last year's class with Lilledahl, Sealey, Ryder, and the Mirasolas with Blaze, Duke, Desmond, Henckel, Asher, and Perry. That's really ridiculous, especially with the holdovers who still have multiple years left (MM, Haines, Barr, Davis, SVN, Kasak).

Loved FRL today. Instead of Christian just sticking to admitting that Flo blew it by inadvertantly naming PSU as Marcus's choice in their article, he decides to move quickly away from that and begins to berate fans for spreading the news they got from Flo who wasn't suppose to spread it in the first place. Then from there, Christian moves on to trashing the fans for trashing Flo and their f*** up. Come on Christian, stop and take a look at how stupid you made yourself out to be today...

Plyes somehow manages to stumble and bumble through without ever having a plan.

Finally the good guys get one....

🤣. We finally got “one”.

Marcus is the biggest and best recruit PSU ever got imo. He will have a better career than PJ. Duke is amazing but might not start for a year or two.

As far as ranking our top recruits (I’m going with their pedigree at the time of enrollment) of this era, I’d go Blaze, Lillidahl, Duke, DT, Hall, Zain, Brooks… but that is really splitting hairs. It’s scary to think my top 3 are either in their first semester or still in high school.

If you’re strictly going by pedigree at time of enrollment, Hall could be #1.

I couldn’t remember how many world medals Hall had at the time of enrollment. I first had Hall ahead of Taylor, but then I swapped them at the last second. Mostly because David Taylor changed the trajectory of Penn State. The reason I put the three young pups out front was their success at college and senior level tournaments. I don’t remember Hall winning at college opens, Olympic trials, or the Bill Ferrell.

Penn State Willie, I think this would make a good article. Rank the top recruits during this Penn State dynasty. You definitely know way more about it than I do.

I think Lilledahl is the most accomplished but he has a loss to Blaze so that knocks him down a notch. I have Duke as my #1 though with Blaze 2 and Lilledahl 3. Hall is 4 for me. Lilledahl has more world medals than Mark but Mark has 2 U20 golds. Lilledahl has a gold and silver but also has 1 more year to compete

I still have Hall at #1. The rest could very well pass him but he was the big recruit with the big victories...Valencia at Who's # 1 was a huge match......pre-match hype was amazing. Hall crushed it.

Hall was my #1 for what he did to Bull at Cliff Keen, was an ass kicking of epic proportions of an elite kid.
But those are high school kids. Blaze beat Daton Fix who is a 5 time AA and world silver medalist. He beat Matt Ramos, an NCAA finalist, as a junior in high school. He obviously has more as well. Hall was a huge recruit no doubt but what Blaze and Duke are doing to elite college and senior level guys is unprecedented
