I probably wouldn’t have replied except you had to add your dig at the end. I interpreted this as you saying only Iowa fans react this way because we are victims and have to blame others for our failures. I believe a small portion of the fan base may act this way but most do not.

There isn't enough news in this sport to keep people's minds occupied all the time, so when stuff like this happens people are going to talk about it.
If the teams were reversed in this situation & this happened to Spencer at PSU, then Iowa fans and many others, would be making just as much fun, or more, of the situation. Unfortunately, in this case, your team was the one responsible for it, and not the one that gets to laugh about it.

Her response was more about not having an expectation met in my opinion. Most Iowa fans never saw another possibility until it happened. The reality is those expectations led to the loss and subsequent glasses smashing
The humor in the glasses mutilation video is that it highlights the contrast between the Iowa and Penn State cultures. At Penn State coaches have the team wrestling loose and having a good time. Sure everyone wants to win, and loosing on the biggest stage hurts - but it’s not the end of the world.
At Iowa losing on the biggest stage is crushing and has folks like Terry going off the grid completely after his ‘96 loss, and Spencer forfeiting his chance to represent his team in consi rounds.
When it becomes apparent that the soul-crushing reaction to not winning carries over to the parents as well, in such an absurd fashion… we’ll that’s just darn funny.

Huh? Most people who have college age children are in their 40s-60's and that's when presbyopia begins to manifest itself. You could say people wear contacts, but not for that condition.
