Match Notes for Binghamton dual

I can't see them winning a match but the top half of their lineup is pretty solid for where they are at this point.

165 - Deprez is tough kid, should be in the mix for St. Louis this year and strong. Will make Joseph work.

184 - Schneider is good, but expect Bo will put up bonus as usual.

197 - Strong kid, knocked off Ricky Robertson at CKLV. Will make Cutch work.

285 - Looks athletic, big kid but not in a bad way. Is able to wrestle with top 20 kids, but I'd expect Nick to put it on him and come close to, if not, major him.

Bottom of their lineup is a struggle with a bunch of young kids. They had a JUCO kid from Long Island who looked decent a few weeks ago that I expected to be at 133, but he is out of their lineup now, I guess weight is an issue. 141 is decent veteran, but JG or Moss should handle with little trouble.

I'm guessing 45-0.

I'd go with 16.5 over/under. Only way to go over, using 17, is 3 falls.

Yes, but 2 falls are virtually given. At 149 and 157 Binghamton is sending out two freshman (one a RS) that will be overmatched. The only question in my mind is whether Bo pins Schneider. Schneider is good and you would normally think not, but with Bo - you never know. My guess is that 16.5, 17, and 17.5 are all the same for the O/U. I don't think we will see any TFs out of the 3 matches.

Over/Under for Zain, Nolf, and Bo:

Team Points: 17
Time Wrestled: 13:00 minutes

For what it's worth, they wrestled a combine time of 14:12 versus Lehigh.

Doing my best blind squirrel impersonation
Under 17
Under 13 min.

I don't want to start a controversy but I see Gulibon or Moss. Didn't see that for the last match. Will Moss go?

only The Shadow knows. I trust the coaches will work things out at 141.

what was more interesting to me was that Binghamton has yet to have a dual match (there 1st is Friday (Hofstra), and their 2nd is Saturday (Princeton)). Yet look at the records of some of their wrestlers. Their only ranked guy, Steve Schneider, is 16-3. By comparison, no PSU starter has more than 8 matches, despite the fact they participated in the Keystone Classic.

Binghamton has been in tournaments/Opens so far this year. These include:

Jonathan Kaloust Bearcast Open (which they hosted), on 11/13
Navy Classic, on 11/19
New York State Championships, on 11/20
Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational, on 12/2-3

Including their 3 duals this weekend, Binghamton has 16 duals this season.

We had previous discussions about whether a current PSUer could challenge the season record for pins, or wins. Seems PSU would have to adopt a schedule like Binghamton's for that to be a possibility.
