Iowa’s best lineup looks like this:

Caliendo can fill in for Teemer if he can make the cut.

Change my mind.

PK: 2x NQ, Top 10 wins: Amine (also lost to him), Ruth
MC: 2x AA (7, 4), Top 10 wins: Olejnik (3x), Garvin, Ramirez, Amine (2x). Also: Kennedy
Yeah, the past Is the past. This year, Caliendo looks like the “Iowa slide” is starting to get to him, and PK has been much better.

Who will be the Iowa postseason starters at 174 and 184?
From a placement standpoint, I would think PK has a bit more upside this year (but who knows) and then Gabe at 184 (assuming AF is going to RS). I think PK could make the podium and Gabe could possibly be wrestling Friday night depending on seeding, but 5-8 more likely both of their ceilings. That would still be very good assuming the transfers carry them to 2nd place overall. Without the transfers this a 40 point team come march.

He may wrestle on Friday night, but it won't be on the center mats.

Ok we’ve seen Iowa against a decent team. They have some decent guys, particularly at the upper weights, but everywhere they are good, we are better.

Don’t forget that we have THREE records to shoot for this year. Last year’s NCAA team score, last year’s NCAA point margin, and last year’s total domination of Iowa in the dual meet.

Lots to look forward to in the next four months!

Really wished we could know the details behind the deal between Teemer and Slumlord Bob and his buddies. Wonder how it all works. Contracts signed? When payment is made? If Teemer is out for the year, i really hope Bob has to pay him anyway. Lol. And again next season after the med redshirt.

It seems like everyone is assuming Teemer is out for the long haul here--I didn't "read" the injury like that. Pulled hamstrings suck, but if it had been torn, it seems unlikely the Iowa training staff would have allowed him to try and continue. Then again, not everyone is Dan Monthly....

NIL is not allowed to be tied to peformance but not sure what happens when a guy is out with injury.

Don't forget that both DT and Suriano also tried to keep going after they were injured. In both cases, it didn't turn out well for the next few months.

With the amount of money involved, I have to believe many of these NIL contracts are pretty sophisticated documents that cover a wide range of contingencies including season ending injuries.

Heck, not even Dan Monthley is Dan Monthly

Even a pulled hammy is a problem. They are slow to heal and have a tendency to recur. George Rogers, the Heisman Trophy running back was forced to retire by recurring hamstring issue.

If I were a kid, I wouldn't relocate anywhere if there's contingencies to the deal especially injury. And to be honest, if slumlord Bob wants you that bad hes gonna pay up to bring you there because they reek of desperation. I can smell it all the way in Pennsylvania. Kid would be dumb to uproot his entire life to go to another school only to not get a dime if he gets injured.

Jstl - there’s an Iowa Haweyes Facebook page. Care to risk a few warnings to post some of your thoughts there?

Can you imagine how good Iowa could be with Bob's willingness to give away his money if TnT could coach and recruit anywhere nearly as well as Cael.

I made the mistake of reading the Iowa message board tonight. Ironbird has really regressed, and he was starting at a low level. He makes RutgersAL look normal.

The recruiting thread was a treat to read. I haven’t seen that much misinformation, bias, and realization of failure. (Mod edit - removed political reference)

Especially since he's the highest returning placer and favorite at the weight without transferring.

OBTW, there's also spending winters in Iowa City instead of Tempe.

This Ferrari seems to be better but his true colors came out. I don’t see him making it passed second semester if he is the starter. They love the drama

I want to dislike this Ferarri like I do his brothers, but his antics were fairly vanilla, I'm having a hard time not lumping him into his brothers antics as well.
The kiss blowing thing??
I think Yonger did it last year, Echemendia did it this year, and so did Ferarri.. I think Tom or Terry did too????

Yeah, this was just a small red flag that the cluster B genes might be hidden in there somewhere, too, not an actual serious transgression in itself.

They had no time to do any real diagnostics before he went back out to restart, so all that we know is that the whole muscle wasn't torn off the bone or they would have seen that, but otherwise, the extent of the injury would require an MRI.

Yeah but the douchey look when he does it just makes you cringe as you are seeing his brothers while he is doing it.

The guy writing the check got his money from ripping off single moms and disadvantaged families. Won’t be surprised if Teemer ends up in court fighting for his money.
