Yeah, it's about the chances they had while there, the honesty of the coaches in communication with the recruits and roster players, and if the kids did all that was asked and just didn't make it whether the coaches and program fulfill [what we hope they consider] their responsibility in supporting these kids in finding another place to play, complete their degree, etc.
But that's the downside of getting your college education paid for by playing football, along with all the other benefits. We'd hope the schools will prioritize the best interests of the student athlete, but if their performance isn't enough to justify the rewards...., there has to be some correction. For me, the hope is that's carried out with the best of intentions, prioritizing the kid's best interests and in the most understanding and supportive way. And we really don't hear about kids who do everything right, play straight and carry out all that's asked of them getting their schollies pulled very often. I don't remember ever hearing that.
