It is hard to believe the extent in which ESPN only talks about Iowa. I am obviously excited for the game, so I have been checking out the coverage. All they talk about is how great Iowa's defense is, and for some reason, how good their offense is. Last I checked they were somewhere at like 110 in total offense. It's sort of baffling to me.
Our running game, which I think we would all agree isn't great, is ranked above theirs! And Iowa fans would try to somehow argue that they have a shorter field, but they have more attempts and less yards per carry. And yet, they are great according to ESPN and we aren't mentioned. It's like they are setting them up almost. I just sort of find the whole thing odd.

Just thinking aloud here though. They do have ties with casino's now. I wonder to what extent they might actually try to push a line.

What doesn't make sense to me is that the talk radio discussion does not suppport the number 4 ranking. It's not just this week. It's been that way for the last several. I listen to a lot of sports radio and there has not been a lot of glowing commentary on us this year; yet, they still rank us number 4.

Not complaining. Just an observation.

Well, we were definitely tested against Wisconsin. Maybe that’s why he said what he said.

When you watch something like that 1996 Outback Bowl game against Auburn, and realize how much more physical and fundamentally sound we were back then, you realize we have a LONG way to go to be as good as that team. Not saying we won’t get there, but we still have a lot to prove.

FWIW, I’ve watched BTN this week, and I think they have been more than fair. I’ve been watching Iowa. I hope you guys are right and I am wrong, but Clifford is going to have his hands full tomorrow. They will be BY FAR the best team we will have played up to this point.

The good news is we can prove everyone wrong tomorrow, and tomorrow night, we can watch everyone tell us how good we really are.

I think he said, before the season started, that we could be 2-2 after the first 4 games.
