I wasn’t suggesting that mcgloin was a good guy or not m, just that he’s paid by someone other than Penn State to voice his opinion, so it doesn’t always have to be positive.
I listened to his first couple of podcasts and then bailed. Guy has a chip about the size of a mountain on his shoulder.
He's paid to talk. PSU has a huge fan base. Iowa's is much smaller. The key to helping the media is to talk up Iowa so more people watch.

I really don't care what this guy thinks. There are very few PSU players who I flat out dislike(d), but he is one of them. In fact, no one else is really coming to mind at the moment.
He also got into it with a Phila Eagles beat guy who questioned his arm strength. He was very defensive and immature.
Well, to be fair, a lot of people thought we COULD be 2-2 after four games.
He’s trying to talk the team down, so CJF will move out west and McMoxie can get commission on the sale of Franklin’s house.

Heck. I had Penn State fans tell me they were afraid we might be 1-3 because Ball State was the best team in the MAC ! 🙂
^^^this^^ i listened to a few podcasts and that was enough for me. I welcome hearing honest opinions and there’s always going to be plenty to criticize but Matt does it in a way that just is very off-putting.
Exactly the same for me. Gave it a shot or a couple of episodes and really don't care if he is pro or anti PSU but he just wasnt interesting and was just kind of annoying.
You can't see where he's' coming from? Wisky has proven to be a paper Tiger. We'll see how good Auburn is tomorrow. I'll believe PSU is potentially a top ten team if they win tomorrow. If not, they could lose 2 or 3 additional games. Why is that such an anti PSU sentiment?

The issue some probably have is why isn't the same being said about Iowa?
Iowa State was just as much a paper tiger as Wisconsin. They just had a tougher schedule and a bye week.
Maryland gets to show where they reside as a quality opponent when they play OSU.
Those are the commentary bullet points that are being left out.
I get it. You have to hype this game. You have to make Iowa sound great because after 8, 830 tomorrow night, they are out of future quality wins until a potential CCG.
PSU, on the other hand, still has OSU, Michigan and Sparty.
I think that the oddsmakers are saying the same about Iowa. 2 or 2.5 points to Iowa because the game is at Kinnick. I believe PSU would have the same advantage if the game was at the Beav.
My son played basketball against Matt‘s West Scranton team. To say Matt was an Utter Jackass would be an understatement. No respect for the guy, even while he was at PSU.

I appreciate you as a brother, but, you do not know the hatred for Penn State, Joe and the football family that Mcgloin's family had toward Penn State during the early Sandusky and publicly announced three yrs later that the Penn State football program should be shut down on the Steve Corbet WILK show several times. It was a match made in heaven, Corbet hated Joe and Penn State (although he did graduate from PSU).

Posters on this board predicted us starting 2-2 or even 1-3. Predicting a loss isn’t the same as rooting against the team. Some of you need therapy.
Is this true? Joe was the one that always pulled for McGloin over Bolton, but let Jay pick his horse. I always thought he was a Joe supporter and hated the way the university treated him. Didn’t know there was family Paterno hate.
Fanboys that can't be objective are the same ones who can't appreciate a 5-0 start and will bitterly attack the coaching staff (and likely the QB) when the first loss occurs..(today or whenever). I'll be a PSU FB fan win or lose today.....8-4, 9-3,10-2, whatever.
PSU has its hands full today. A loss and PSU can still have a pretty good season. A win could lead to a great season.
