Max Dean interview - impressive

I think you guys are too hard on Suriano re his interview.
I actually found it more interesting to hear someone talk about their fears and open up like that instead of more of the same stuff we usualy hear.
Maybe if he actually said what he was talking about , instead of dancing around it all. Does anyone know what he means?

If Bushwood ever needs a voice narrator, we've found him.

10+ min later, and I have absolutely no idea what he's talking about.
I caught fear of something rattling around inside his mind. That fear (or its rattling, not sure which) caused him to lose focus. And that's why Pat Glory road him after having faked a neck stinger and calling a BS injury time. And that's why he didn't finish well a match he dominated.

Hope that helps.

Hmmmm . . . interesting . . . On a more important note, after watching Max's interview and reading his Instagram post; wow, so impressive! What a quality young man. I think it is wonderful that all of the Penn State wrestlers get to be immersed in the culture of that room. The camaraderie and support must be so beneficial to all those young men. Looking back at some of the personal issues I struggled with not only as a college wrestler, but also in just trying to navigate my way to becoming the man I wanted to be, all the Penn State wrestlers are truly blessed to have such a wonderful support system. In watching so many of the interviews of all the wrestlers this weekend, it just reminded me again how impressive the overwhelming majority of wrestlers are. I was especially impressed with the sportsmanship exhibited by so many of the wrestlers during the tournament. It takes strong character and maturity to show that sportsmanship, especially if your dreams have been crushed. I extend my heartfelt appreciation and admiration to all those wrestlers who are champions as wrestlers and in life, no matter if they met their wrestling goals or not.

I hope Beard is willing to stay the course with us but obviously I don't fault the kid for doing what he feels is best for him. He has sacrificed so much and has done everything the coaches asked of him. He's already AA'ed once, he very well could have been the second best 197 in the Big Ten and Nation this year since he was right with Max in the wrestle off and got robbed against Schultz in the home dual.
when Beard talks he is really commited to PSU!

I get not wanting to sit, but you’re not gonna get worse spending a year behind Dean in the room. And one could make the argument that a year in the room at Penn State is a better situation than starting other places.

I have a question. What was that journalist inferring with their question? Did they think Max was eating a salad made of the essence of Cael? Like Cael has a super secret salad recipe or worse yet, Cael feeds pieces of his flesh to his wrestlers?!? I’m so confused/concerned!!

This may be posted elsewhere, but it is certainly derserving of its own thread. Very happy for Max and it’s quite the compliment for the program in a very open and honest way.

Had small chances to meet with entire Dean family + Sarah (the usual hotel lobby, food line, elevator stuff) several times last weekend. Their nervous anticipation and love for Max was palpable. Max seemed perfectly relaxed and ready. As always, it was totally amazing to see how wrestling families react to high stress situations. We are lucky to count the Deans as Penn Staters.
