Ok, we had heard from someone very close to him about the injury issue causing him some issues, so maybe it was both.
Another thought is when cutting a lot of weight and your focus is on weight cutting, injuries become more likely and recovery more difficult.

Wasn't even looking, but Coach Cody said today in front of a large public audience that Nagao hasn't wrestled since his procedure, and any and all rumors of a wrestle off between Davis and Nagao are false.
I will take his word over any wrestler's Dad's.
Nagao isn’t even certified according to Trackwrestling. Doubt he was wrestling off for a chance to compete any time soon. Might need him though if Davis injury is serious.
