Michigan - Florida game thread

Their defense is playing real fast. They look comfortable in the scheme.

Hurst and Gary look really good, particularly Hurst. The mlb Bush is all over the place. He's short, but very fast and tackles strong.

Secondary is their weakness. Provided you can stave off all the blitzing. Also, they don't seem to sub a lot. I know they are young, but I don't see a big DL rotation.

What is up with this constant chatter about the ESPN app. That Holly dyke was just telling about hearing Beth's voice from her bag while being on the elevator. I don't need to hear about that.

Florida might be one of the 3 or 4 worst teams in the SEC. This will be touted as an earth shattering win for Michigan, but the reality of this game is that Florida is horrible. In every phase. Michigan has a very good front seven. As good as Ohio State? No.

Nothing about this game changed my mind on anything about Michigan: Yes they are fast, yes Harbaugh recruited very well, yes they have a couple of threats, and no they have not improved, nor declined. To beat them will require our A game, not our B game. If we deliver our A game that night, we will win the game, if we bring our B game, we'll need some breaks and could risk losing a close game. Same as it ever was.

Florida is absolutely dreadful. They will struggle to go .500 in the SEC this year. On the sack for TD the left tackle didn't even attempt to block the defensive end. Literally made no attempt to touch him.

Florida is a terrible football team. Literally worse on offense than we were in 2014 & 2015

Thoughts about Michigan...

Is their defense that good, or was it the Florida suspensions?

I watched the game and unfortunately they are for real. Very big and very fast. Going to be a real tough game for us. Hopefully home field advantage can help us. Going to be a tough game for the OL and McSorley, can't turn the ball over. That said FL offense was weak.

I posted earlier that I thought Mich looked faster on both O & D than they were last year. I'm glad we get them at home this year.

They looked very physical but Speight is the weak point. If we can pressure him then he can make mistakes. Defense looks very good. This will be a tough one for sure.

After watching FL, I recall when Zaire chose ND over us, people were depressed. Not so much now.

Michigan will come for you soon enough. They are better than last year. Harbaugh is a sensational coach.

Better? At this point I'm not convinced of that at all. We have way too little evidence to come to that conclusion yet. I'm not convinced that this Florida team is all that good either. We need to see some more games.

Saw Quinn Nordin hit two 50+ yard FGs - first
time in Michigan history.

Frankly, I was unimpressed with both Florida and Florida State yesterday. Neither of them look like top 10 football teams, or even top 20 football teams. This is shaping up, after one week, to be a potentially unusual and interesting year across the landscape of college football, it's been quite awhile since Florida has looked that bad, and Florida State, well, that looks like a very good defense and no offense.

Florida's been shaky for awhile now --- they only have 2 seasons finishing in the Top 20 amongst their last 7. Only 1 season amongst the last 7 with 3 or less losses.

Michigan should be good --- but a victory over Florida doesn't tell me anything in terms of them being elite. Florida seems likely to go 8-5 or so, playing in the Gator Bowl.

Every time they show Harbaugh, he looks like he's saying to himself, "how can I blame the players so this doesn't look like my fault???"

Except Jim has never ever blamed his players. At least educate yourself before you spout off.

Especially when double-digit players and 4 starters are missing from the opening game roster due to pre-season injury or game suspension announced within the last week...

Pretty pathetic that Jimmah and MeatChicken made Florida look like the paragon of virtue and a likeable underdog in this game by their ridiculous shenanigans regarding rewarding convicted felon and female-student assaulted, Grant Perry, for pleading guilty to crimes that carried a potential sentence of up to 2 years imprisonment and admitting he had been lying to the University & Justice System Authorities about the incident for upwards of a year...just so Perry could help win this football game. Remember when the "Michigan Men" told us he wasn't probably even going to play and not a starter anyway.....but he ended up being Michigan's leading WR in terms of number of catches (4)? Now the b1g bush-Network is slobbering all over a MeatChicken win over a bad Florida team playing with a depleted roster because the Coach and University did the "right thing" in disciplining players - go figure.

I hate it when they let a kid come back from pleading guilty to grabbing a girl's butt in line for a nightclub despite being suspended for several games last season. He deserved to to be sent to a North Korean camp for hard labor and perhaps even have the offending hand removed.
