they didn’t until it was too late. i think the hawks get left out in the cold here. if i was a coach i’d stick to the new midlands for the sole reason of not having to make entirely new travel arrangements on short notice.

Yep, no brainer for the teams - same dates, same flights, same hotels, etc. Good on Iowa for starting the other one on short notice to get something to happen but that's way too much of a disruption to have it 3 days later in a different state.

Maybe this question was answered above, but I scanned quickly and couldn't find it so Im going to ask it. Is the Matmen Open AND the Hawkeye Open both taking place? I just seen on the twittersphere that Princeton has registered for the Matmen Open. If the Hawkeye Open isn't happening, and Iowa heads to the Matmen, Glory and Lee could meet sooner than we thought. Not sure how to tag people or I would tag Willie to ask. @smalls103

Looks like many/most of the original Midlands schools are in. Wisconsin, Princeton, Pitt, Rutgers, Campbell that I've seen so far. Mark Hall is going, so Penn likely in too.

The interesting question will be if Iowa still tries to hold its own tourney instead, and if they can attract a better field than the Luther Open.

Coe College is putting together a team to attend the Iowa Midland.
