Any tips for newbies to Minnesota in March?
I have the SkyWay app and think that might be helpful for getting around. I see it closes at certain times. Should I be concerned about this Saturday night after finals walking back to hotel?

Also, where are all the good breweries?
Of course I have the HopPlotter app, but any local advice?

BVStPaul, ccdiver, & others will provide you excellent information.

in the meantime, the light rail was very good to travel by, and much, much cheaper than Uber, Lyft or cab from the airport, $2.50 vs $30+, if I remember right.

Two random tidbits:

I always try to go here when I’m in town. Don’t sleep on their breakfast.

I also enjoy walking the path around Bde Maka Ska (formerly Lake Calhoun) if the weather is tolerable. Nice city views, a uniquely Minnesotan urban experience.

I have heard that the skyways are closed later in the evening but depending on where you’re staying downtown, it might be convenient to hop on the light rail for a couple of stops. If you’re staying in the same hotel as Roar, the stop is very close......I’ll try to post closer to nationals with some of my TC likes.
