Mitchell Mesenbrink

No, no, no, no . . . no . . . no — not Bud Light, never Bud Light.

Maybe Meister Brau, Beast Lite, even Piels . . . anything but Bud Light.

EDIT: Just looked up whatever the Bud Light controversy was — my comment has nothing to do with that and everything to do with a longtime position against that particular beer.
Can I just add that I am thoroughly amused that @horraybeer Liked this post?

It's not a sign at all.

But if it were, Missouri's RTC is also on Rokfin, so it could indicate him going there.
The upper left logo is Wisconsin wrestle. I realize that's not Wisconsin University affiliated.

Still, I read Wisconsin University coaches recently tweeted about 'the best news.' Some speculated this meant Hopke, some Mesenbrink, some Griffith.

I can wait until 4pm to find out. To me 'the best news' from UofW coaches could mean more than one highly regarded Wisconsin native joining their team.

so he would go 165 ? or 157? or is a tweener that could do both?

I’d be shocked it it’s Wisconsin….With him being an Askren boy…..and Askren is not supportive of that program

That seems to be the conventional wisdom of the boards. Then again, getting over the 'Askren boy' hump could be part of 'the best news' characterization.

I guess I'll be waiting until 5 to find out (unless Mineo Tweets a scoop 😉).

I'll call it now, and could have egg on my face even as early as tonight, but I think Mesenbrink goes elsewhere.

The need on our side isn't itnearly strong enough. In think we don't have much of the 9.9 available and Cael won't take some of what he has offered to Facundo. I think Nagao is the priority there as well. He also will say it's up to Mitch to earn a spot, and drive his own NIL value.

On balance there will be several other schools where he is a day 1 guaranteed starter and he will probably get a sweet financial package.

I think it will end where both sides exists a strong interest, but other situations will win out. The only thing that would change my mind is if Facundo has told Cael he's not happy here, I don't think that is the case at all.

PS for the doubters, Alex is 'going to be fine'. He is developing a little slower to plan, but he will AA next year for sure. IMO.

PS - Nagao is a slam dunk.
I'll go the other way. We get Mesenbrink.Nagao to Iowa. They're going all in with the Brink's truck.

well now days he can come to PSU if he isn't good enough to start he can transfer to another school where he can!3 or 4 more times!
We joke, but with the combo of NIL and the portal, there is little risk of any kid coming to PSU for a redshirt year, learning under Cael, and if there is another hammer in front of him in the lineup, going elsewhere. PSU could become the farm program for the rest of the country. Just sayin, the risk of truly competing for a spot, and getting stuck behind a GOAT in any program has all but been eliminated.

I think it's not just Iowa; at this point the rest of the wrestling community in the US has had just about enough Cael's winning ways. Sucks to be them, I guess . . .
If they want to level the playing field they need to figure out how to train and develop their elite athletes into champions. Until then the beatings shall continue, whether Ironturn and slum Lord Bob care to face reality or continue to whine.

I like Iowa being fixated on the money.
