Kuhn is going to be interesting to watch. Clearly no one has much info on him. You have to like the way he went toe to toe and was technical in some counters for his takedowns.
Really hoping Corey could have pulled off a win. I was hoping he could get to Pletch’s right leg. Didn't get very close. However, I think Corey can surprise someone along the way.
Nick had a good match. Needed some more time. Good learning event. I wasn’t sure going into the match if he could break Joey down in neutral. He did but Joey got some nice shots off as well. Nick is going to be a force in the nat’s.
Zain – way to gut it out. Hayes is big and it showed with his broad shoulders sticking to the mat…
Bo – was hoping he could do more… control some of the match.
Cenzo – I wasn’t convinced bonus points were likely. Possible yes. Cenzo is fearless and wrestled very well. In fact, he is turning into one of my fav’s to watch (a lot to choose from)
Mark – I really liked that he was more offensive on his feet tonight. Should/could have had the first TD as well… Wonderful match. Big’s and NCAAs could be closer but as long as he is going to look for and take a few more shots then I think he increases the odds of winning down the road
Bo – ‘Majicman like’ not getting taken down. Another 4 or 5 star match after intermission. Really hoping he could have locked up a cradle.
Cassar – Probably the same reaction as most. Thought the best chance for bonus points, if a win, was coming from Shakur. However, I also thought if he could stop Moore’s shots then he had a chance. I was eagerly anticipating the matchup. In hindsight, wasn’t that close. What a dilemma for the next few weeks.
Nick – glad to see his offensive TD. Would have like to see him get another single off. I’m sure Snyder had some wear and tear on him but so what.
Didn’t think we had a chance without Nolf and NickL losing… thought there was going to have to be a pin by someone! I am perturbed by how the coaches go nuts and don’t appear to get warned. In fact, I wonder how much TanTom is involved – head coach but not hands on? I wasn’t impressed by his pre-game speech aired a few weeks ago (I think against IOWA). Loves the camera, eh?
The tOSU wrestlers are a good bunch. Don’t see much punkish behavior, if at all, out of them. Snyder didn’t say anything… as fans we shouldn’t even pay much attention to college kids talking about ‘their’ match. I am so hyped on college wrestling. Nothing is a given (aside from Nolf, Zain, Snyder) and upsets do occur – especially where styles conflict.
