Assuming he collects, he would improve his image in the eyes of many if he donated the entire 1.7 mil to charity.Hmm. Be a hero or be rich? We see what's important to mcqueary.

Gavin believed in MM. Barry was right.
This judge has to be getting a kickback. The money is for his lawyers, no?
If so, I would urge them to donate it to charity. Lawyers are very generous.Assuming he collects, he would improve his image in the eyes of many if he donated the entire 1.7 mil to charity.
How can someone blow a whistle on them self.... Is the a monetary form of auto-felatio... Now I could understand Mike being involved in something like that.
He had better invest wisely because he is persona non grata everywhere for the rest of his life.
The money is for his lawyers, no?
What's your end?The lawyers were going to get the 1.6 million fee either way. With judge gavin's ruling it means that PSU will be paying the fee on top of the 5 million awarded instead of it being taken out of that amount.

How much is the kickback to Lubert? Not money for Mike but for his lawyers. And the Pennlive article says the lawyers STILL get their 33% contingency fee on the $7 million verdict. Can that be? How can they get paid twice?
Perhaps if donated to ROXINE, the advocate for the voiceless, she'd finally slink off and go away.Assuming he collects, he would improve his image in the eyes of many if he donated the entire 1.7 mil to charity.

Disagree what's the current tab for a WR coach in the B1G? $250k to $350k I would guess at the low end give a 20-25 yr career and it's very easy to come up w that number. PSU screwed up, you should fire a whistle blower. What he did or didn't do that night is irrelevant to this case. This is all on PSUThis is a perfect example of what's wrong with our legal system. In this case MM is receiving more than he probably would have ever earned in his entire lifetime. He's not getting reimbursed for his damages. He's cashing in big time. Then he'll write a book and cash in all over again.
Same with some of the victims IMO (and no, I'm not blaming the victims or being insensitive about what happened to them). Depending on what you believe some of these victims were touched or rubbed, not raped or forced into oral sex. In those cases damages in the $millions seem extreme.
Liability claims, workers compensation claims, etc. can be similar. Companies should be held accountable for their actions but many times the penalties seem to be greater than the crime. It's a huge detriment to job growth.
How about a WR coach in the Pennsylvania Conference because that's more likely where he would have ended up.Disagree what's the current tab for a WR coach in the B1G? $250k to $350k I would guess at the low end give a 20-25 yr career and it's very easy to come up w that number. - PSU didn't fire MM. BOB elected not to retain him because he wasn't qualified.
- Ruhle wouldn't even hire him at Temple.
- Your assumption that MM had a great future as a football coach isn't supported by the facts. Very few football coaches earn $350k per year, especially for 25 years.
- If other schools thought MM was a great WR coach they would hire him today.
- Should Jay get similar money? Wasn't he going to make a fortune coaching if not for the screw ups by PSU administrators?
PSU absolutely retaliated, and that is the standard, not necessarily firing.
