Naming names. What happened?

So then he's got nothing, pretty much what I thought. See this is what happens when your source is the town drunk.
And maybe I missed it but how did he know you posted this on Tom's board?
Not sure how he knew. Maybe he is monitoring this board.

I don't believe that this has been established. However, most media groups have teams that track how often, where, and by whom their stories, or their writers, are mentioned on social media, or on the Internet. They are in the clicks business, so they find it useful to try to learn what gets reposted, and where it is posted.

Well in that case, Hey Tom...

This did not take long:

Chris-

Because you believed that a private communication between two people should be posted on a public message board I will not communicate further.

The answer to your second question lies in the article. I'm sorry you're unable to see it.

Good luck to you,

-Tom Winter

He's nervous about public release of his email, but he had no hesitation vomiting out innuendo as fact in a mass media outlet. What a complete crock of shiite

That is actually kind of astonishing--that he thinks it is some big crime to take what he said and make it public? Not to be too obtuse about this, but isn't that what he does for a LIVING? Chris--was your email conversation with him "off the record?" No? Then his claim that you have somehow violated his privacy is utter BS. Imagine if a politician tried that.

It doesn't matter Dem. The thinking is that since he printed (posted) it, its real. Not truthful. Real. That's what these guys think now - truth is no longer part of the equation. Reality making that sells media. The general line from these guys is... since there is no mass interest for real journalism, why waste time doing it? Give the mouthbreathers what they want...a reality.

In other words, the diametric opposite of what supposedly separated the "Journalism" from the "gossip rags" such as the National Inquirer, etc... - supposedly they lived by "Only the news that is fit to print" (e.g., double-sourced fact checking). I guess there is no distinction anymore between a "Professional Journalist" and a "Gossip Rag Columnist".....

In that case ... Tom Winters is a lying sack of shiat that will write anything to get attention without any source or fact checking. Tom Winters can't back up what he writes and when he can't doesn't have the balls to retract the erroneous "article". Tom Winters is best suited for writing in the National Enquirer. Tom Winters is as bright of an "investigator" as Inspector Clouseau. Tom Winters "bombshell" is a bigger dud than he is himself.

Hey, Tom Winters, since you are such a great "investigative journalist", how about you find out why The Second Mile (hint: this is the charity started by Jerry Sandusky) was never included in any investigation and was specifically banned from being sued in all "victim" settlements with PSU?! There, I just gave you your next bombshell story on a silver platter. Unlike the rest of your "profession", do you have what it takes to investigate it?

What an arrogant little tw*t. First of all, I didn't see any question marks in your original correspondence, so I don't see where he read two questions.

And this "I'm sorry you're unable to see it" is complete bullshit. It's the equivalent of saying I'm sorry I have an IQ of 397, and you're incapable of understanding my brilliant musings.

Winter was told to put up or shut up over his claim, and it's obviously he is obviously unable to put up, so he has chosen to try to shut you up. That's exactly the trick unethical reporters like him use. He doesn't need to name names. He put out the suggestion that there these supposed names he could release. The general public will forget about asking for those names; they are satisified that Tom Terrific claims to have them.

Tom Winter is a gerkononaken.*

Silly rabbit. News isn't about news anymore. Its simply about selling more papers, increasing ad revenue, getting more 'clicks', more listeners, winning the ratings wars, etc. News? HA! Don't make me laugh.

A reliable source indicated that 6 NBC reporters knew Tom Winters beat his boyfriend and they did not say anything to anyone. Bombshell report to follow in the week or so.

Were any of them from michigan?

File Tom's brilliant investigative journalism under...

Time, time, time, what has become of me? I had names to name, so many possibilities...

Why should he be upset that you posted his e-mail? Is there something he's ashamed of then?
precisely. if he has real evidence of ANYTHING there is no need to hide it.. after all, he's
edit: aw crap. just did a little quick research... he's a kid. much like 'no clue' ganim, this asshat has no idea of the world. i'll leave this post up for comedic effect, but we're wasting our time here.

allegedly a reporter who has gone public with his story in the first place. who cares if someone made the conversation public?

that said... i did catch an early draft of the report to be issued. hold onto your hats, babalooies....

Coach A adamantly declared that "with the benefit of hindsight, I, myself, and at least 5 other coaches whose names i can't recall and might now be deceased, did, on more than one occasion, observe JS talking with young men we believed to be under the age of 21. Moreover, some in question were from TSM and clearly were under the age of 21. This concerned us deeply and we spoke of it often while showering together. We devised clever names for this by dropping the soap on the floor and competing to come up with an appropriate name for the soap. One of our favorites was 'oopsie, there goes another 66.' I have kept close contact with these other coaches -- all men, i believe, although with regard to coaches 4 and 6, there was always some concern -- but i cannot recall their names, what positions they coached, or what they looked like. But we were all best of friends, we exchanged greeting cards, shared our wives and boyfriends equally and liberally... of this I can assure you. Trust me."

Sounds like a slam dunk to me.

“And you also may have noted we do not source on hearsay. We have a victim that confirmed that police told him a coach saw it.”

LOL, that comment still cracks me up. My god what an imbecile. Says they don't report hearsay and then proceeds to literally define hearsay with his next sentence. The fact that these idiots get to control the public opinion of PSU and this scandal is ridiculous.
Let's see, Matt was told by an investigator(that may or may not have perjured himself at trial and my or may not have have been caught on tape coaching/misleading a witness about a fictitious number of other victims), a former asst. coach might have witnessed something. That all sounds rock solid to me.

That also confirms techniques used by the police to get victims to talk. "Jerry's done this to other kids so it's OK if you tell us he did it to you too." "Don't be afraid to talk because we have other coaches who saw what happened." Well damn, if multiple coaches were witnesses why didn't they testify at the trial?? And if the police told Winters who the coaches were why haven't they told anyone else?? I'm sure they'll be able to produce a police report which documents the interviews?
