ND got their butts kicked tonight by Louisville - we were told that duhO$U's win over them was a "signature win"???

I'm not even sure ND will remain ranked after this butt kicking, but they clearly aren't anything special at 4-2. duhO$U's last 2 games is very telling about just how good duhO$U's Offense is - not very.

The "experts" told us ND was good and MD was not good. Turns our both suck.

I’m sure…they will obviously be ranked.

The storyline will now just change to how OSU beat a previously-undefeated Maryland team. ND will be dropped from the discussion. happens every year, because certain people in the college football media world are blatant OSU promoters. If we beat OSU there will hardly be a mention of the fact that we won, as opposed to spin on why OSU lost and how they can still get to the playoff if they rebound to beat Michigan.

The best was the announcer talking about Notre Dame’s “gauntlet” of a schedule the last few weeks. They played Duke last week, (football, not basketball), and Louisville tonight. Some gauntlet.

Then they were talking how ND hasn’t lost an ACC game since 2017, conveniently ignoring the 2 losses to Clemson (in 2018 and 2020) since the 2017 loss to Miami.

ND's Offense sucks - they were held to 44 rushing yards (on 28 attempts) and 298 Total. Their defense gave up 185 rushing yards and 33 points.... remember how we were told that duhO$U's awful Offensive performance against ND was because ND has a "Top 10 Defense"? LMFAO - ND has an incredible Top 10 defense (which they don't), but Iowa's defense sucks (which it doesn't). Amazing how that works with some of the "supposed" PSU fans on this board. LMFAO.

Bushy, the voices in your head are the only ones that said “Iowa’s defense sucks”.

Just want to point out who the one is that is "keeping this going." Not sure if he is off his meds or still needs a diagnosis. Either way, I have no interest in feeding his episode. Good night.

ND should have taken that BIG slot they were offered last year. Now let's hope their BBall program continues to collapse.

They should have but they're lucky in the sense we'll always take them. Hate that fact but they know it.

It’s funny how some posters don’t want to keep this going when it turns out their negative spins on PSU and our opponents don’t turn out to be quite as accurate as they think it is….but don’t worry, they will start up again next week.

Yesterday doesn't alter anything. I'm thrilled ND lost. Any time they lose its a good day. They'd still be favored against anyone we've played. Maryland probably would be as well. Accepting reality isn't a negative spin.

I don't know about a "signature" win but 6-0 with wins over ND & MD is as impressive as any team in the country.

No matter what ND and MD do the rest of the year…got it.

It's laughable bullshit - ND got their asses thoroughly kicked. It was way worse than even the final score would indicate as ND scored a meaningless TD with a minute remaining. ND could very easily be a 3-loss team at this point. MD has played absolutely no one outside of duhO$U, but all the sudden they're a great win! MD was unranked coming into duhO$U for a reason - they've played nobody.

Don’t worry, if we beat MD, we’ll hear how bad they are and it doesn’t count for a good win.

If we beat Maryland it's a better win than anything we have right now...that bar is low
Again our best win is IOWA who this board bashes constantly.

Notre Dame has wins against Navy, Tennesse State, NC State, Central Mi, and Duke. Two of those programs, Duke and NC State, are having decent seasons so far as records are concerned. They still face USC and Clemson. Two more losses sounds about right.

To me, ND, OSU and PSU are carbon copies of each other; they all have really good defenses and mediocre offenses, The difference is that ND has a qb who’s been playing college football for five or six years and appears to have regressed since his Wake seasons, whereas OSU and PSU have first year starters who still are learning and developing. If I were a ND fan, I’d be very disappointed with what Hartman has produced, but then again it doesn’t look like he has a lot of weapons.

You really take this stuff personally. PSU has 3 big games left so we'll see how good they are. But you seem upset that some people think MD & ND are better wins than WVa & IA.

at risk of sounding like sour grapes of shrewsberry leaving, i think psu got the better end of that deal. Rhoades is more of a proven head coach and assembled the right coaching staff for what he needs to do. also his transfer portal additions were solid; he filled in the major gaps, mostly. feel like Shrewsberry struck gold with Pickett and cashed in on a two week run.

Waaay too early to know.

You're not giving Micah nearly enough credit for what he did here (and for how good of a head coach he'll likely turn out to be).

that's because he didn't do that much here. the best season (out of two) was a 10th place finish and a run at the right time. if he had stayed at least four years and continued to move us up in the conference, I would be giving more credit

as I see it he rode Pickett and Lundy to a new job. and Lundy was a Chambers recruit

Do you not remember where things were at when he was hired? He held it together, put together a respectable season in 21-22, got a few key pieces from the portal to put together a T9th in the Big Ten last year and an NCAA win, had an extremely good recruiting class coming in, and had some really nice young pieces on the team.

The fact that you can say that he "didn't do that much here" when he took us from 2 scholarship players to a Big Ten title game and an NCAA win in 24 months definitely sounds like sour grapes.

I do remeber where things were when he was hired, we were one season removed from a team that was ranked in the top 10 at one point. and Ferry had basically bubble team in the following year.

the program was really a dumpster fire when DeChellis took over, that was the low point and it's not disputable. Chambers took over something somewhat better (but not much) and really deserves a lot of the credit for breaking through decades-old recruiting roadblocks. Shrewsberry then took over what a lot of d1 jobs would look like after a firing. it was not the impossible job that it was 20 years ago, and he showed that

regardless, a 10th place finish was his best year. the cupboard was bare next season and he knew it, and partially he created that. plus it is hard to dispute that he really rode Pickett and Lundy to another job

Hell, I would take that season every year for PSU basketball.

and so would anybody, based on history, but it isn't so clear that Shrewsberry was unique in his ability to produce that type of season. seems like Rhoades is more than capable.

what i see is that ND got penn state's coach 2023 recruits, basically, while Penn State got a more proven coach who assembled a better coaching staff and brought in probably the best transfer in the league. we will see how it plays out
